Lol at Sagaipov's face to the Italian when he punished the same move. "Got you! You had that coming, you should've known." Absolutely loved Tanaka's grab into free osaekomi. Smart and quick, unexpected to most even. People just expect they're safe at that point because nobody bothers with newaza (is my biased opinion).
That choke on Bellandi was really quick, it looked like at one moment she was fighting and maybe even about to tap at the end ilke you should, but then in the next moment she just flopped over limp. Very unfortunate. But one thing I'm surprised about that even still the referee for example doesn't apparently have any first aid training and doesn't immediately walk to the unconscious person to check on them and monitor them until the team/medical staff gets to them (unless they perk up right away). That'd be a good look for judo in my opinion, very professional and safe as you can get.
Great eye from the referee and the staff in Reid's victory, that they didn't stop the play and checked on video at the end. If they had ended with that 8s osaekomi as win or stopped the play the moment Reid escaped, that'd have been the wrong call (in my opinion). Tcheumeo protested and looked surprised for no reason.
Amazing day for the Italians, good work from everyone! Forza ragazzi!
The fact that we are still unable to have correct time on the ne waza in 2024 is so stupid,it is time to step up the judge boot
Nearside cradle !!! In judo !!!
VARAPAYEU is from Belarus, he is not russian
I'm so happy for Wagner to win. It's fun having someone from your country going all the way.
Bellandis fighting spirit is simply impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if she rather risk going unconscious than loose. That choke looked vicious too. I suspect she tapped because of pain in the end.
They both fought with a lot of heart and resolve.
-78 remains a joy to watch in my opinion.
