  1. Dr. Amen's brain scans cost several thousand dollars and they are not covered by insurance. That puts those brain scans out of reach for the rest of us. What can the rest of us do as an alternative?

Hello Doc, great information, I am 50 and have been doing about the same things outside of sleep and the extensive fitness routine, I am just too busy working to sleep over 5.5 to 6 hours, I cut out all processed foods, caffeine, no fast foods or restaurants and all organic and non gmo, etc.. I lost 50 lbs about 4 years ago and leveled off at about 30 lbs lower than when I started to about 160 lbs and have been here for the last couple of years, I did this to enhance my ability to work and overall health, how much will the lower amount of sleep affect me going forward as i now hit the 50 yr mark? thank you very much

  5. There’s a lot that one could follow here.. as we age lowering inflammation is key as is flexibility. Sugar, dairy and flour should be avoided, nothing good comes from that. Healthy fats are necessary for cognitive functions and there is some research that lectins might be problematic as well.. I’ve come to the realization that if you want to live a quality life, you must take your diet and exercise seriously.

  6. Ron & I noticed an immediate difference/improvement in our sleep from Night One after we bought a Sleep Number bed ! After the first night sleeping on it, I felt better. I just knew I'd slept better. We are totally sold on that bed ! We have had it 7 years now.   7. No way! My body naturally looks a lot better than Tom Brady’s and i don’t even workout. My doctor is literally amazed at my toned and overall body build. He embarrassed me though by being so excited that he called in 3 nurses to come in and look at me as well and he’s constantly inviting me to do ballet training with him. I have a defined Vshape and waist size is 28 and I’m 6.1, 190 all muscle. I’m 40 and get mistaken for being in my early 20’s
