I remember the first open goal slapshot I scored on NHL. Imagine my surprise as a southerner when I looked back at the screen and realized Pierre DuSuq-Penís (my created player) was getting his shit rocked by a defender.

I love the canoe, but the ref would’ve lost sight of the puck, resulting in the play being dead (I’m not a ref but I’m pretty sure that’s how it works)
Why would fans be upset about a slap shot into an empty net? Makes no sense, not as cool as the canoe obviously but a slap shot is better than a wrist shot or something where a defender might have a chance to dive in from if the goal.
