  1. Thank you for all you do to help me/ us to live a vital life..I was wondering: If the muscle break down due to intense strenght training increases uric acid, could the loss of muscle mass known as sarcopenia also increase uric acid?

  2. Interesting information. I do wonder about the information on protein, however. 162 grams of protein are equal to NINE cans of sardine a day, which equals 3 cans for breakfast, lunch and dinner, or for those who eat twice, 4-5 cans a meal. That is A LOT. Obviously one can substitute other proteins, but that is still a huge amount. What do you make of the research at Stanford (Gardner), USC (Longo) , and other research institutes which have been arguing that the 1gm/lb standard is too high?

  3. What can I say…maybe, that I’ll be 90 in 3 months and despite being T2 diabetic ( 4th generation—controlled with low carb Ketogenic diet) I’m in good health…still drive, still have most of my marbles…widowed, married for 57 years to a biology prof at University of Michigan who told me early on—“ Ancel Keyes is NOT a scientist.”
Best day of my recent years was when I discovered you, Dr. Goldkamp…it’s my conviction that you are helping me to finish my days here on earth with decent health and a good deal of quiet joy! Thank you more than I can say!

  4. I have gained so much awareness now.
This will help me help myself and my husband who have symptoms of flare ups in joints that I’m certain are related to some habits that we can now fine tune. Thank you. I loved the end, your genuine heart filled words. ❤

  5. Very difficult for me to understd the “purine” thing.

On one hand, seems that most of purines (purine is bad for uric acid) are from animal products, but on the other hand, animal proteína are important (or at least this is what i ve understood).
So should we avoid animal products or are they important for health? It seems that they r both 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I still dont understd the kind of diet for reducing acid uric then. Ive understood that it should be individualized, but still not clear….

    Thank
    You!

  6. Hi I have gout, can you provide a video on the “best ways to lower uric acid” really appreciate you and the how well you articulate the medical process of everything.

  7. Hello! Thank you very much for taking time to present this video! Your information is very precious to all of us. I noticed that you touched a very sensitive subject which is fructose. Nowadays people are very confused. Some doctors and the media say "Eat more fruit and vegetables"…in other parts you hear that fructose is actually bad increasing uric acid and also causing fatty liver. Can you do a presentation on this topic ? For example if i eat every day this: 1 lemon, 1 grapefruit, 1 orange, 1 banana and 1 apple….is this wrong ? How much fruit is too much ? Thanks and all the best !!!

  8. Very informative! Thank you very much! I have had issues with gout for 4 years now. People always focus on red meats but I think you hit the nail on the head about HFCS.

  9. Avoid seed oils and nut oils. 90% is uric acid excretion. What drives reabsorbtion? URAT1. What inhibits URAT1 the best: everything but seed oils. Best fatty acids for inhibition of URAT1 are found in (ruminant) animal fats: all the SCF, Myristic acid, Stearic Acid, Oleic Acid. In short: replace seed oils with butter and you'll increase your excretion.

  10. Very informative. I gain a lot from your deep dives into a specific subject and the complexity of how the body works. I am motivated by your expression of passion and and intellect. Thank you for the effort you make to communicate effectively.

  11. It IS actually your fault as these detox purines -> uric acid is used because it is the easiest (cheapest) anti-oxidant , i.e. you don't have good enough endogenous anti-oxidants.
The heavy ROS creation during fitness, thus the increased uric acid (due to less good antiOxes) .

  12. If the liver is responsible most of the part then fructose is one cause of uric acid. Fructose damage the liver so it means before the kidney filter the uric acid it is already compromise in the liver.
