I’m doing mma
Does karate take a very long time to master though?
I've been doing boxing for 7 months and even if I love it I don't see myself competing in it. Not afraid of bloody nose, hurting chin or anything of that, but brain damage… That shit scares me. So on September I'll be starting judo, and hopefully I'll end up competing in there. And I don't regret having done boxing at all, I think it contributes to my overall martial arts knowledge.
Hey. All the fighting styles that i see nowadays use gear while fighting. Is there any karate styles that dont use ANY type of gear for sparring?
Im not the most athletic person and ive recently been consider doing martial arts, this helped me make the decesion of kick boxing! If it goes well ill update the comment lol
Ive been interested in Martial arts for a few years now. Im 17 currently and am a ballet dancer this has made my legs quite strong so ive been looking into Taekwondo but i cant help but feel discouraged due to starting later in life. Im not sure if it is too late to want to pursue
Bro doesn’t need to choose he just does all of them 💀
You can try MMA because you get different perspectives and see what works. If one fails, your options are more open and you can change your strategy
The question of "what martial art would you like to learn" is alot deeper than many think. Some martial arts have sub categories.
I heard Aikido is a bit crap, can you name ANY uses for it?
Bro didn't even mention karate 💀
Karate?

I practice wing chun and boxing, ive learned throughout my year of training so far that the centerline theory, sticky hands and the chain punches are very much real by being squared with your opponent
-biggest need is definitely pressure from an opponent
-lots of silamtao to really activate trappings and flow
For boxing, go crazy man except dont break your knuckle like how i did

Have done MMA for 7 years. I love kickboxing and Jiu jitsu. (Jiu jitsu is my favorite) just got my low brown belt and train 6 days a week. Am kinda disappointed though because I contracted mono and have been disallowed any intense sports (mma, mt biking m, parkour) because my spleen could rupture and I’ll only be back 3 classes before my tournament that I signed up for:(. Wish my luck hopefully I’m not that rusty after a month but I am going against black belts and am at the bottom of my weight class so the odds aren’t in my favor.
