calisthenics is great for building upper body strength and muscle but very poor for building leg strength and muscle.

I would keep your rests between sets the same and just add rest pause sets. So instead of doing 1 set to failure rest repeat, you would go to failure rest 10-20 seconds go to failure again for each set.
