  1. Hey paul, what stretches do you do for your lower back after deadlifts? I notice my back bothers me when I’m driving for long periods of time after deadlifting , it’s just super sore but not painful, just uncomfortable

  2. the MAN 🏋️‍♂️💯💯💯🙌 age is just number I'm 40 and just started lifting weights before I was just a boxer body type my goal is get like this man hard work dedication

  3. During your lifts, you can indeed raise your bpm, but isn't cardio training a state during which you should maintain a higher heart rate for a long time? And not only for 10 or 15 seconds of a set?

  4. Paul I always felt like deadlifts were cardio. I do squats too but they don't have me winded like deadlifts. Great info. When the gym opens back up I'm going to add them to every workout.

  5. God damn that’s impressive! I’m 42 and I started doing 5×5 again but I’m kinda digging this. Is there a formula that is used to figure out your weight for the 20 reps? And would you recommend this for bench press, shoulder press, squats, and bent over row? Thanks again

  6. you are my functional training inspiration! Do you drink any alcohol and if yes, do you have any rules for consuming it? like "only one glass redwine friday evening with my wife" for example

  7. hi paul sklar you're a very sexy and tough bearded muscle man. is it possible for you to upload a video where you do exercises in a wrestling sinlget? if can't it doesn't matter i'll follow you the same. just a last curiosity. did u fight in some wrestling match? because with your amazing physique you should be a perfect professional pro wrestler. thanks for your time paul.

  8. Could you do a video on what you train each day please coach!

I've been training on and off for 10 years and I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere with a 4 day upper lower split, do you think a 5 day split would be better or too much?

  9. So instead of 30-60 minutes of steady cardio or HIIT, perform a compound high volume movement at the end of a workout? Like deadlift, squat, lunges, maybe hand/power clean?

  10. It's not cardio just because your heart rate goes high. There is eccentric cardio and concentric. You're just doing concentric. It doesn't increase stroke volume. Stroke volume is what makes you cardiovascularly more efficient. Not just peaking heart rate. You're also not working inspiration and expiration muscles to the extent you can with less load.
You can't just do deadlifts and build mass continuously and call yourself healthy. With more mass, there is more total peripheral resistance for your heart to pump through. High heart rates are the only way your heart can manage cardiac output vs higher stroke volume.
