the way the cop is being so patient and kind even regarding the situation getting heated actually brought tears to my eyes. it’s not often you see someone being so compassionate and looking beyond his behaviour and realising there is more going on. i hope he gets the help he needs

PTSD does not discriminate. It affects the ugly, the pretty, the old, the young, the rich, the poor, male or female. It reaches every corner of your mind. It is debilitating.
These cops need to learn how to deal with a person that is having a mental crisis. They are telling him that he has PTSD. Yes he’s drinking, but he has a mental disorder. He can go to the hospital and then arrest him. I hate when they try to down what’s going on? It’s a hiccup. They have no idea what this man has gone through. Officers needs to be trained better with people with PTSD anxiety, etc. etc.. because I’m telling you PTSD and anxiety are not a fun thing to have

Personally, I kinda feel bad for the guy and his family. The whole family is completely heartbroken, and his drunkenness and ptsd just ruined everything. His crying out "my friends are dead!" shows how much the guy had to go through…

Just like the officer said “it’s a hiccup in the road” , “it’ll be, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry once he sobers up” . He hasn’t drank like that in years according to his fiancé / family. Now, what somebody from the neighborhood could have possibly done to provoke him during his walk with the dog, I’m not sure, but only because of the booze was the reaction the way it was. It’s 99% of the time the alcohol that heightens these situations and gets a man or woman out of character like this. He takes a day to sober up and from there on watch his drinking consumption, they’ll be okay and have a happy marriage.

I feel for the officers especially the veteran officer seeing a fellow vet going through that struggle this is why this country needs to focus on mental health I’ve seen plenty of my fellow soldiers go though so much mental struggles with very little help I respect the officers for treating this man with respect while doing their job
