DMac was pretty quiet in both games against the' Canes. Didn't/couldn't really stamp his authority. Kinda feel like BC outplayed him in both games.
Objective Reds fan here. Whatever happened to calling the ruck unplayable and playing a scrum? The ref didn't want to penalise him either, hence why he took so long to give it. Fix this game please.
I dunno, that last penalty was a bit iffy; player made an attempt to roll but with 3 100kg+ players on top of you.. not much else you can do

Bad reffing for that last penalty surely. The bloke was deliberately trapped in there by the Hurricanes players, no matter how much he tried to wriggle out. Especially at 17 all with a couple of minutes to go.

Lots of players have gotten a penalty for not rolling away even when players were on top of them. It is pretty damn normal. But the ref was unfair for both sides. Stop saying he was in the Canes favour

Here's a theory…Refs would rather find a penalty to break the tie so as not to send the game into extra time.

Is that not a penalty try? chiefs 22 blocking pass to Hurricanes 21. No-one in front of player 21. He knocked it on but that's because of the hand on ball of Chiefs 22 player and not attempting to catch it. Penalty try.
Congrats Hurricanes on the win. There's been some talk about the ref through the game, but I want to thank the Waikato fans turning up and being part of a famous derby.

the 20 minute red card rule is stupid for me as international rules you get red you're done for so when the all blacks get a red card kirwan starts his shouting and screaming about how wrong it is and just like with the scrums…..he got his way……scrap the IRB panel and select independant professionals not tied to anyone just to make the rugby union great again

How is that player supposed to roll away his trying, should have been a scrum to the hurricanes.unplayable
How did Ref award that try when it was a bluntly obvious knock on, not once but twice 🤷🏼♂️ If it wasn’t for the video, he would have got away with it. Officiating is piss poor from the World Cup till now.
