Considerable danger that another car or "rubbernecker" will impact into the accident scene from behind,the trooper placed her vehicle so as to provide some protection to the scene,attempting to cross the median right at the accident scene with the vehicle would have been likely to get the vehicle hung up on the cable or trapped in a ditch under the snow,attempting to cross on foot would have left her unable to quickly access her vehicle for possible first aid supplys and the scene unprotected.

I don’t think any officer should drive at speed without sirens on.
The RD looks just like I 40 here in TN there is a stretch of about 2 miles between 2 exits that are both different counties. If an accident happens on the other side of the highway then they have to go down to the next exit to get to the accident. There are concrete barriers in between east and west.

Cool thing for her to do even tho she isn't an EMT I'm sure her call in to flip got the dispatch on it. Better to have her there so no further crashes happen. Sucks to see people in accidents but it is heartwarming to see good people. Especially when it's an officer.

I was a Mn. Trooper for many years….saw this type of thing many times. Winter is always a dangerous driving time in Minnesota…lots of snow & ice…trying to get people to slow down was always a challenge. The cable barriers save a lot of lives.

The officer could have just stopped and walked over to the crash to render aid if necessary. The extra driving was totally unnecessary.
