You missed the most important technology built into the cars a Kenetic Energy Recovery System which harvests energy from braking into electrical energy that then can be used in squirts for overtaking or defending and that is limited each lap, is refreshed as you cross the start/finish line each lap and is used at the drivers discretion via a button on the steering wheel.
