Talking to a doctor to get an approval for pumpkin seed and other herbs is exercise in futility! Pharmaceuticals is their only approach:(
I am in Canada. I have taken an over the counter supplement for a year now. Most days and once a day. It has in each soft gel capsule saw palmetto fruit extract with 85% to 95% fatty acids 125 mg , stinging nettle extract 75 mg , pumpkin oil from seed 460 mg , zinc citrate 15 mg , lycopene fruit flesh 6% extract 5 mg , selenium ( high selenium yeast) 55 mg. I have done very well with this. I tried a different formulation of theirs with much less pumpkin seed oil for a while and noticed that I needed the larger amount of pumpkin seed oil for better results. I also improved my diet so still can include some less healthy foods intermittently with no problem. I don't take any prescription drugs from doctor of any kind. I have recently had blood tested and good on all fronts. The product I take is sold at shoppers drug Mart in Canada.

Hi Dr. Rachael, I'm 64 and I eat a good handful of pumpkin seeds on my cereal every day. Are they just as good as using pumpkin seed oil?

Dr. Rachel.. if I were to say masturbation self or by other means, what oil or lubricant should safely be used in order to protect the ureatha and other male groin area. I had a nasty bought and on meds which is helping me get better but can we use coconut oil, baby oil or something you recommend?

I like your show and I watch it. But I tried pumpkin seeds for at least 6 months and I saw no real improvement in prostrate symptoms. Did not work for me.
So if you are in blood thinners what are the routes are there for people that take blood thinners and if you go forward what are the consequences I'm taking this while you on blood thinners?

You'd mentioned if you're on blood thinners, pumpkin seeds are contraindicated. But, is it because it promotes blood clotting or inhibits it? The reason i ask is because i have hemophilia A.

I personally eat pumpkin seeds every day and definitely think the actual raw seeds are better than a supplement containing pumpkin seed. But my research shows that saw palmetto is estrogenic and I avoid.
How much oil in a dose?
1. Fruits with lycopene – tomatoes, grapefruit, papaya apricots, watermelon, etc.
2. Fish & fish oil (Omega 3) Fatty fish like anchovies, herring, mackerel, black cod, salmon, sardines, bluefin tuna, whitefish, striped bass and cobia are high in omega-3 fatty acids.
3. Citrus fruit – oranges, lemons, limes.
4. Nuts and seeds containing Zinc – cashews, peanuts, almonds,
pumpkin, sunflower.
5. Brazil nuts (Selenium), vitamin D (salmon) or 20 min. sunlight for FREE
6. Olive oil, avocados and its oil, pistachios, dark chocolate.
7. Allium vegetables: garlic and onions.
8. Have sex once a month.
Drink a pint a day before Halloween if you want to go to parties as a wookie.

Be very careful eating too many. I was putting 3 spoonful's of ground PS on my oats every morning and I was getting serious muscle aches all over. The pains disappeared when I ate a lot less….
