I think beauty standards are insane. Most beauty standards make females look worse. Like pale skin actually suggests that someone is deficient in vitamins or minerals, or they have a melanin issue making them more susceptible to developing skin cancer. And skinny people would not survive very long if they got stranded in a desert. Also how the heck do real people find an adult that behaves childish attractive. This would suggest that have some mental disorder or they are of a lower intelligence, how could that be attractive. And having eyes that are proportionally larger than other facial features would suggest some illness or disorder.
Look in nature and you would notice that things are supposed to be curvy, supposed to be darker coloured, supposed to be proportional. A natural woman is the most beautiful type of woman. A woman that is genuinely kind is attractive. A woman that is strong and eats well is attractive. A woman that is intelligent is attractive. A woman that is creative is attractive. A woman that looks like she could survive in different survival situations is attractive.
The problem is that people are negative and miserable and full of issues and they project that onto other people. You shouldn't fall into their trap.
All people should learn this:
Stop being a people pleaser. Dont try to impress others.
Stop trying to keep up a false depiction of yourself and your lifestyle.
Stop listening to other people and follow what your heart or gut is telling you.
Stop copying other people, instead be yourself. Originality and authenticity is the highest accolade someone could hold.
Be realistic, be authentic, be genuine, do something because you enjoy the challenge it brings, and finally let it happen. Everything's gonna be alright.
In Asia, you gotta be pale or you're ugly. In the west, you gotta be tan or you're ugly. In Asia, you gotta be skinny or you're ugly. And places in Africa, if you're not thick, you're gross. In the west, blue eyed blondies are ideal. In other places, it's melanin rich. Smh..
I’m filipino and growing up I was called “black beauty” adults always say that and then would say “she would be prettier if she wasn’t so tan” to any adult that was in my vicinity or related to me. That made me HATE being tan and I stopped going out in the sun in fear of getting tanner
I'm really disturbed by the innocence standard of feminine beauty. I know that I'm an old white man from Australia, and trying to impose my understanding onto another culture is kinda imperialistic. It really disturbs me when children are held up as the beauty standard. I find it creepy.
i have to disagree about the european imperialism part. idealising pale skin has been around the asian continent for 1000's of years it is not a new thing.
I think the the racism that prevailed towards easterns especially in the world war 2 era(which was a consequence of american propaganda efforts to justify bombing japan along with an underdeveloped social order where acceptance and tolerance were scarce) has also sown the seeds for this to happen. This is as after the west emerged victorious in ww2 they also found themselves with insurmountable soft power because of economic prosperity and skin color and thus these racial biases against easterns had a much more intense effect on the people they were targetted towards and thus the resulting overcompensation by eastern women to adhere to prescribed beauty standards.Surprising how the west sowed the seeds for any of the conflicts in the world today, both personal and geopolitical.
I focus on emotional well being. Physical first impression is a tiny part of a relationship. Focusing on emotionally stable people surrounds me with emotional well being. That way I am happier than surrounded by beautiful bodies with detrimental psyches. I get used to any appearance spending enough time around. My standards shift either way. As does my mental well being, depending on how my inner circle.
Thank you for sharing this ❤ Major content warning 🙏🏻 but we also need to discuss the deeper issue as a society and as young women. This is all rooted in a culture that accepts a pedophilic patriarchal standard and the abuse implied by it. It is very real and I won't get more into it bc it can be very triggering for many. But I see you survivors and damn you're strong. Call out abusive standards and behavior when you can safely and take care of your precious selves. Letting others control your agency in this way – through restriction, controlling & punishing oneself to be thin and young looking and pretty – it gets a lot easier for others to claim our agency in other ways. Fight back against the internalized messaging. You are SO GOOD the way you are just for being you. 🌟🫂
Also also the sane thing with a darker tan being associated with working in the sun aka pezent was and tons a degree still exists en European as well.
Where I grew up in Eastern Europe the term “stupid pezent” was used literally. As was as a schools qualified bring determined by a lack of pezents not metaphorically literally.
I (who am white) always keep my skin as pale as possible to the point of warring long leaves shorts during summer to prevent getting a tan…
Im glad u brought these points to attention. It slightly irritates me how many westerners think asians wana 'look white'. And while some trends like getting nose IMPLANTS does seem to be western influenced the whole 'japanese wanna look white cuz they draw anime characters like white ppl' is so dumb to me cuz they dont look like humans at all definitely not the wrinkly red old white lady who said that to me, its just an idealized representation of beauty imo
They claim white skin when in reality they are naturally genetically not white even tanned is the most stupid beauty standard and shows how desperate they are to take off their identity

Asian women are the most beautiful women on earth.
