Hetfield seemed so exuberant back then. Not enough death in his life then I guess. When you’ve witnessed enough the heart turns crisp and dark. The meds that we not supposed to take work good. Then even that gets old. “Man the eff up”doc says, good old VA. You start running out of people to talk to because most are all gone. End up back n the swamps living in a dilapidated camp living off the land. More isolated that way.

I played the rhythm guitar of this song with my band mates at secondary school, performing it as a closing song for Teacher's Day back in 1996. It got out of hand after the bridge part, as some of the students started headbanging in front of the stage bumping into each other, kicking tables and throwing chairs lol. We got banned from performing at school after that incident. Oh sweet memories..
