If There is any history in the family of glaucoma or macular degeneration it is really important to get yourself an ophthalmologist and see them at least once a year because the optometrists don’t have the training to know if you have any eye disease and I greatly regret not going to one and believing what my optometrist told me which was that everything was just fine which it was not and now I’m paying the price of something that could’ve been avoided!
Do eye exercises, and forget the glasses
Stocks for the win!! As a beginner investor, I used a few things to really help expand my knowledge of the stock market in a way that was pretty digestible for a new investor. I still reference it fairly often to get a quick overview of a stock to understand it's surface-level fundamentals by using an advisor, and I can't recommend that method of learning enough! I use Cynthia Depken she is super helpful to a lot of beginners out there.
Focus on two key objectives. Learn when to sell stocks to minimize losses and maximize gains to start protecting yourself. Second, prepare to make money when the market turns around. I advise speaking with a broker or financial counselor.
Thank you so mush . God bless .

Andrew thanked Dr. Goldberg for his generosity in sharing his expertise. I echo that gratitude. This is a veritable Physician's Reference on opthamology for free! Saving this for future reference. What a wealth of information that will undoubtedly benefit many people. Thank you both.
(Don't worry, I'll STILL see my opthamologist in addition to this.)
My first time seeing this channel. Now subscribed.
Haha. Full spectrum is also deadly. Sun is dangerous. It kills people and one day it will kill the whole planet .
I am a 78 year old type 2 diabetic with left eye strabismus and amblyopia. Dr, Goldberg's presentation is most informative to give me the right directios to monitor my eye health and seek proper treatments during my annual Medicare eye exam and know how to ask the right questions during the eye exam, Thank you.

At 49 yo, I went in feeling great and had glaucoma. Go get your eyes checked.
Andrew, would you wear a white shirt for God's sake!
Living with dry eye has been hell on earth at 29. I know people who have ended their life due to this disease.
Vitamin k2
He couldn’t do much passing cos the team was so static. England were only good for the first half an hour
I have light grey eyes, and the dilating drops make me miserable. I spend the money for the retinal scan.
Andrew
The drops are awful. They burn. I wish I could send you pics
I’m a RN. Twice I was accused at work of being stoned.
I’m 55. Been active my entire life. 3 years ago I had 7 retinal tears in a year. Bilateral twice. They ended up putting a sclera buckle in my right eye.
A year has gone by and they have tried e try eye drop to get the right eye pressure down.
It’s now 27
It was 30-40 for a year
I’m now told if they don’t get it down > 20 I’ll loose vision in the right eye by 1 year
They told me for a year I could not do my hot yoga or life heavy weights and if catapulted me into depression.
They then put me on diuretics.
The side effects were awful.
I asked them if they take the sclera buckle out will the pressure go down.
I was told yes
But there’s no guarantee
Would love your help and insight on this.

When you go to a new hairdresser and her hair looks like 💩……
I used to throw baseballs to my son….father of the year was like…..he can't catch, at least he's cute and smart, must take after his mother. Then my wife brought him to the doctor and he was like……kids almost blind in the left eye and the right one isn't much better. I still feel bad😅.
Dr. andrew claims to read all the comments, so here is one that may be of worth in his research, or personal experience; exercising depth perception within virtual reality. it can be tweaked to reflect real-world environments. something to consider when sitting around a table with an individual or two discussing the accessibility and therapeutic effects of video games. (escapism)
Anyone have tips on retinal thinning?
The powers that be have now admitted that they’re blocking the sunlight that comes to earth. Where I live, we hardly get any sunlight anymore. I wonder what implications that will have for our eye and other health.
Thanks!
My dad has a rare(around 5 per 100k), progressive disease and he's bummed. He was traveling to Boston monthly getting some experimental treatment & starting to see some really positive results & I could see him becoming less stressed & happier. Then he got something fairly minor & his PCP prescribed 7 days of prednisone. At the next eye appt the dr couldn't give him the treatment(injections in the eye) because the prednisone had destroyed or damaged something(I think it was either the rods or cones but not sure exactly what). Months ha]ve passed and he's still not gotten back to where he was prior to taking prednisone. Losing your sight is a really difficult thing. He's super fit, 74 this week, very active, exercises and loves reading and nature … I bought him a kindle so he could start reading again but he's struggling.
Make sure they get adequate sunlight. And don’t stare at a computer screen all day. Plus a healthy diet with real food.
Sorry but not mine cause of Chernobyl and survived illegal experiments, lucky to be alive in more was then one
I am glad that he mentioned the importance of cardiovascular health related to eye disease. One thing to add to the conversation regarding this is blood pressure control. Two decades ago, ophthalmologists and optometrists would commonly tell patients that there was no connection between blood pressure and eye pressure. This is no longer the case, for it is now well known that high blood pressure can cause an increase in intraocular eye pressure. When a patient presents with a high IOP in clinic today, we now check their blood pressure. If the BP reads high, the patient will be referred back to their primary care physician to evaluate their hypertension to get it under better control.
What if your vision changes throughout your life as your brain changes? What if wearing vision correction is counter-productive to this evolved feature? I feel like I get distracted by things in my vision and wonder if I shouldn't really be able to see them because if I don't wear my glasses I can't.
Problem is that lasek doesn’t do the trick after a while. Now I need glasses
Exquisite discussion with excellent questions and just enough scientific terminology for the lay person to comfortably absorb. As you mentioned lots of actionable information regarding eye health. I truly enjoyed every minute of this very important subject. Thank you Dr Andrew Huberman and to your guest and colleagues Dr Jeff Goldberg. Truly remarkable range of expertise in your discussion of eye health. Thank you very much. If I could give a grade for this podcast and interview as a listener I would eagerly regard this articulate and astute discussion as A+ level presentation from both of you.
whats your stance on the science behind the covid narrative ?
Unfortanely, this podcast was removed from amazon music due to the Copyright issues

I can move my eyes inward independently as well (and cross my eyes easily). Too many magic eye books as a kid, lol!
