  1. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it or not, but…
They had a week to prepare that. Eden (One of their producers) and Hongjoong remixed the song putting Wonderland and Symphony #9 together and Eden coached Jongho into hitting that note… in a week. They were also promoting another song at the time and were super busy, but they always gave it their all. They still perform it this way, and it's absolutely mindboggling to witness it live. That moment where everyone holds their breath for that note from Jongho and then the second Hongjoong finishes his little bit and the music hits…. Ooof, you feel it.

Ateez are known for their stages and their story. Every stage they have done fits into the complicated web of a story they are spinning for Atiny to enjoy. Stages for concerts, Kcon, TV shows (Like Kingdom), everything links back to the story. If I ever need a song to 'fight' to, it's going to be this.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I hope you find and enjoy more (not just from ATEEZ in the future)

  2. I seen this song live at one of their concerts and jonghos high note was the ABSOLUTE BEST his mic was messing up but you could still hear him perfectly 😭

  3. Would you believe they didn’t even win?! They lost bc they didn’t have a fan base yet and the show allowed fan votes to count for most of the points. They did get most of the votes from the “experts” though. There is a fake chart floating around that totally takes that away from them, which made me angry and fans of a certain kpop group happy…. The group that won🙄

  4. I love Ateez n Straykids so I decided to watch all the videos from Kingdom and i’m glad i did because I discovered other groups like BTOB (seniors) and The Boys. I was in love with most of the performances from each and every single one of each group, but i need to be honest with you: the best performance out of all was “Love Poem” by Eungwank (BTOB), Jongho ( Ateez ) and Seungmin (Stray Kids). My second favorite performance: rhythm ta by Ateez and Full Dash by Bobby (iKon) Sunwoo (The Boys), Hwiyoung (SF9); and my third: Mosnter by The Boys.

  5. Love Love Love this performance from ATEEZ. But there are so many more that I can't even start to list them! Love their dedication and effort in everything that they do. And love that your facial expressions were matching the other groups in that had been watching live in the video. ;-D Shock and joy and disbelief and enjoyment all wrapped in to one! 🙂

  6. Ateez choreo does tend to stand out. Possibly because KQ sent them to train in LA pre debut & from what I know their former teacher is their choreographer. He said every time he sends them the choreo for a song they keep telling him it needs to go harder & he said
“These guys are going to freaking die!!” (vividly aware that they have to sing while doing this).
He wasn’t used to Kpop…said he’d NEVER encounters this in Western pop.
Probably my favourite video in all Kpop is the DANCE PRACTICE of the 2019 MAMA “Wonderland/Shinee…” mashup performance. All the craziness going on in that camera lol😂
Pieces of clothing that couldn’t stay on, those who should’ve been on a surfboard, had the whole room shaking so the camera wouldn’t stay still…..oh and of course the San who doesn’t seem subject to the laws of gravity & the human structure! 😅
Lost count how many times I watched/laughed at this.
Just glad no one was hurt (I think 🤔)

  7. I honestly think the breathing comes natural if you pull half that energetic performance off it's just that at one point it became "IN vogue!" to "show it fully into the camrea !" Too 😂 😂

  8. ATEEZ never does anything less than 200%. I was metal head before I found K-pop. (I started with NCT the stray kids then ateez) this is what I show the friends that were making fun of me. And now they get it (and I even found a stash of albums in my concert buddy’s closet teeheehee)

  9. Oh since I didn' see anyone answer: yes, pirates are a very regular thing for them. Their debut song was actually called Pirate King, and it remains a major part of the story and lore. like I'm really excited to see you react to Illusion, to see how many of the things going on you pick up on. And it's largely set on a Pirate ship (one of their few ships they've had)

  10. Ateez actually won this round (and the next too)! It's extra impressive when you remember what all they had going on at the time. Mingi was out on his hiatus, and none of them ever felt right on stage without him also there. Mnet also decided to have the show finally start filming right when Ateez had a comeback. Between music shows, practicing this stage, another music show, filming this (and Kingdom were 20-30+ hour long shoots), and then ANOTHER music show, they didn't have time to go back to their apartment for 3 days straight, taking power naps whenever they could, you can even see Yeosang pinching himself to stay awake in a video for The Show. They ended up getting the win for this on the same day they got a win for Fireworks. Which is great with all the hard work they put into it, like they included Hongjoong sleeping in his studio while trying to work out what song to mix with Wonderland.

It was a really hard time for them, they were extremely mistreated by the show and production, missing Mingi, doing the comeback as well as 2 festivals (kcon and uni-con), they were still filming the drama half of them were in, Imitation, two rounds of Immortal Songs (Rain and Psy, won both), and the charity stream where we got a Bruno Mars cover. On top of Yeosang starting to work as an MC on The Show the week before Kingdom started to film. And then fans of other groups were nasty to the point that KQ had to put out a statement warning they would take action, and opened an email just for us to report the worst of it. (I'm no narc, but Jesus some of it was so bad). Some fandoms were so mad Ateez won 2 weeks in a row they ended up getting rules changed, and companies actively prevented their groups from voting for them. And to top it off, San's grandpa who he was extremely close to died a week before the finale. Hongjoong mentioned in a live (with Seonghwa agreeing) a year later that he couldn't watch the Kingdom stages because of how rough it was on all of them at the time. And San recently said how this stage was the most stressed out he's ever been.

  11. Kingdom fue una etapa dura T.T aún así los chicos dieron su 100% con sus agendas apretadas . ATEEZ GRACIAS , THANK YOU VERY MUCH por sus increíbles performances!!!
