Did Trump’s JOB CUTS to National Weather Service COST Lives in Texas Flooding?

Did Trump’s JOB CUTS to National Weather Service COST Lives in Texas Flooding?

On July 4, 2025, flash floods in central Texas claimed over 70 lives, including children. As communities were devastated, many are questioning whether Trump’s cuts to the National Weather Service (NWS) played a role in making the situation worse. Was it just bad luck, or did these cuts slow down critical response efforts? 💔🚨

In this video, we break down:

The cuts President Donald Trump and DOGE made to NWS and how they impacted response times

How staffing reductions and resource cuts at NWS led to delayed alerts and slow responses

The dangerous consequences of these cuts and why they matter

The role of DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) in pushing for these cuts

Expert opinions and quotes from local officials on how these cuts contributed to the tragedy

Other weather-related disasters where NWS cuts led to deadly consequences

What happened in Texas?

Heavy rainfall led to flash floods on July 4, 2025, resulting in over 70 deaths, many of them children.

Local officials and emergency responders were caught off guard as critical alerts came too late.

Trump’s Cuts to NWS

Under Trump, NWS faced significant funding cuts that weakened its ability to predict and respond to disasters.

Weather balloons were reduced, meteorologists were laid off, and equipment upgrades were put on hold, impacting forecasting accuracy.

Fewer meteorologists meant slower response times and missed opportunities for timely alerts, leaving communities unprepared for the severity of the flooding.

Other Disasters Affected by NWS Cuts
It wasn’t just Texas. Across the country, NWS cuts have had deadly consequences:

Hurricane Dorian (2019): Staffing shortages delayed evacuations and forecast updates, costing lives.

Midwest Tornado Outbreak (2020): Delayed warnings left communities vulnerable and unprepared.

California Wildfires (2020-2021): Cuts to NWS slowed down warnings about extreme heat and fire conditions.

DOGE’s Role in the Cuts

DOGE, led by Elon Musk, pushed for government efficiency by slashing budgets, but cutting weather services that save lives is a dangerous move.

Experts say these cuts put public safety at risk and are fiscally irresponsible.

Conclusion
Did Trump’s cuts to the National Weather Service contribute to the tragic flooding in Texas? The evidence suggests yes. Slow response times, missed warnings, and inadequate preparation left lives at risk. It’s time to restore funding to NWS and ensure we are ready for future disasters.

  1. Quit blaming trump for everything. That narrative is getting way too old. Natural disasters happen all the time. Where were you when the hurricanes that devastated Florida and North Carolina? That was under Bidens watch. Was that his fault too? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🙄

  2. I voted for Obama and Biden. When they did dumb things or screwed up I wanted to acknowledge that and call it out. I wanted them to be confronted about it and explain themselves. I was very concerned about Biden’s obvious infirmities, for example. Legitimate criticism of leadership was important to me as was accountability by Democratic officials. Today’s GOP is as resistant to criticism as their leader. It’s not allowed in any form. It gets punished severely. It’s unprecedented and dangerous, besides being extremely hypocritical.

  3. 🤣.like taco whining rig election that inspired Jan 6th cowardly coup but yet takes mugshot for that election 🫠. but yet attacking the education and farming and military systems 🤫 there's goes the honor code
