  1. No North Korea is more stricter though
1: you can’t leave North Korea
2: you literally get a fuckin DEATH PENALTY if you don’t hang up pictures of leaders or if your house is on fire you can’t save anyone else you have to save the pictures first and then save anyone else if the pictures are destroyed guess what? You still get a fucking death penalty and the fact that you said “THEY ARE STILL HAPPY” BRO THATS EVEN MORE PROOF NORTH KOREA IS MORE STRICT

  2. I’m an American who was born and grew up in the states but I’m originally Turkmen with Turkmen ancestors. My parents and their siblings moved to the states in the 90s because of the wars.

  3. I'd actually take North Korea over Turkmenistan.

North Korea (or at least Pyongyang) has changed and now feels a lot more modern and 'normal'. Pyongyang now even has a rush hour and traffic jams because there are more cars than ever before, people are eating better, the electricity is more reliable, more outside media is being permitted and so on. In short it feels more like a real place.

North Korea even airs English Premier League matches on state TV, including crappy teams like Ipswich Town. It's mad.

(Can't speak for the rest of the country mind you)

Turkmenistan just feels like a soulless museum and the laws in place are the sort of silliness you'd expect from General Aladeen. North Korea doesn't prohibit the use of recorded music at weddings, or black cars, or prohibit women from wearing makeup.
