Challenges to Providing Safe Drinking Water in the Midwest – A Symposium
A statewide symposium on drinking water quality in the midwest was held September 21-22 at Drake University in Des Moines. CGRER spoke with a few of the event’s speakers about water quality challenges unique to Iowa and a variety of ways to approach them. The event was co-sponsored by several University of Iowa centers, including the Environmental Health Sciences Research Center (EHSRC), Center for Health Effects of Environmental Contamination (CHEEC), Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research (CGRER), and the UI Public Policy Center.
