The GOOD news: New changes were made to Red Dead Online's DLC depot on SteamDB indicating a new DLC Update is in development.
The BAD news: Just like in April, there is a possibility these updates could get removed again.
What we DON'T KNOW: If that happens that will be 2 times DLC changes were added then quickly removed, meaning there still could be something in the works. With no official confirmation or announcement from Rockstar we will not know for sure though.

Such a shame they let this game die… it had so much potential. Maybe they wouldn’t make as much as on gta, but it could have been a gem

Only new content we will see is new Jacket, Hat, Boots, Holsters, Bandolier and new Manes and Tails for your horse. Surprised anyone still plays this, every player I've ever seen are either shooting npc's in Valentine, sending spammy messages like some angst filled teenager or just generally being toxic, they don't get it, not everyone wants to play a game to just "pvp". So I'm really not surprised and glad, that Rockstar will not give anymore updates to a really toxic filled player community. You can thank those types of players for that.
Originally this happened with GTA tho, they promised casinos and heists but it took years for them to bring heists and years after for casinos… could be what’s happening with rdo

At this point with both Gta and rdr2 I'm just going with the flow both good and bad. I still have decent fun with both but here recently more leaning to rdr2 than gta but oh well I'm neither hopeful or doubtful about updates

Online mode will not get me back. They got my money once – never again. They refuse to provide a DLC for story mode because they already got our money when we bought the game. They want more online suckers to shell out money over and over again.

Haven't gone back to online in MONTHS, almost half a year because it's so dry. It would take something substantial to get me interested again. I want more than a monthly pass, that's just a money grab imo. I want more horses, roles, bank heists, outfits, camp customizations, etc.
I cant wait for the big june dlc of 4 new outfits and 50% off horse food

what i really want for the game is store and bank roberries in free mode and to turn of and on gun holstering animation, sathels and other things like losing certain coats etc

We got one good, big update, the 3 original roles, and people complained about that. It will have to be bigger than anything they have done so far to revive the game.
Haven't played this game in over a year now. I suspect if I signed on I would see that I litterally have missed absolutely nothing. I have like 60k in money and 700 gold and nothing to do with it. Fuck rockstar
