Jackson and Turner both died of cancer. Both were full blown Democrats, Houston people from what I have read in comments was definitely corrupt. But we didnt lose a seat as in a Republican being replaced by a Democrat. He had also been either a DC congress or Texas representative prior to being mayor of Houston.

From Mississippi here. I agree with your idea for President Trump to get involved in this replacement election. That sudden of a death would be a heart attack or stroke. Houston by all accounts is a sanctuary city. At this time Houston is a broke city due to the running of the city and being a part of a democrat ran county. I grew up in Houston so I've seen a lot happen of which isn't good. The miss management had been horrifying in my opinion. There is so much crime as well as crime (fighting) in the schools. All but maybe 5 are Democrat Judges in Harris County as well of which are voted in. When being ask a question at one time Turner just got up and walked out. Houston is a wonderful city but it has some really deep seeded problems. Why the citizens keep voting in Democrats is puzzling to me and now want to raise the taxes again.

Yup when Sylvester Turner was the former mayor of 2024 and knew he was going to lose the election Sylvester stolen all Houston, TX city's funding and passed it around to all democrat cityhall! When the knew mayor was elected May of 2024 John Whitmire announce all the cities funding was GONE! John Whitmire is democrat as well he should have investigated the transaction but decided let it go!? All democrats aka left wings must be investigated and prosecuted just like what's happening to sanctuary states and cities! Justice must be served our constitutional law was violated! I agreed we need a republican too many democrats since the 70's! Enough said!
