Shouldn't have fled the cops
its crazy to me that in science, an eye witness account literally means nothing. Meanwhile in the legal system its one of the strongest pieces of evidence.
Witness statements are always problematic, subject to bias, human cognitive issues, and other types of subjectivity. Recordings, however, are an unbiased accounting of reality.
The justice system/courts needs to recognize this reality and automatically admit all relevant recordings of such events with the recognition that such recording are reality and "witnesses" are inherently flawed.
Witnesses are notoriously unreliable, even when they're not lying blatantly on purpose.
