Gaming on console is like gaming in the past anyways
I have a PS4 and I really enjoy playing I do not care if I am on Old hardware I'm just happy that the game was released on ps4
This is why PC can be better, sure, you pay 2-5x the price, but you get 4-5 generations of consoles out of it…. From my experience
I think it was black ops 3 that released on PS3 and PS4 but did it the opposite way 6 is. Instead of building it for last gen and upscaling for the current gen, they built it for the current gen and trimmed it down for the last gen versions, so the maps on the last gen versions had fewer assets around and the visuals were lower quality. I think that would be a better way to do it because it would incentivise cod fans to upgrade while not leaving them out of the new game.
I still regularly see the argument of "why should I bother upgrading if everything is still coming out in last gen consoles". For a lot of people, it's not a matter of they can't afford to upgrade, it's a matter of being given no reason to. I got a PS5 and my brother still has a launch edition PS4 and we can still play most games together.
PS5 and Xbox Series X are whack af anyways, last gen much better
AC Rogue was only available on last gen consoles first and later released on next gen, so you're wrongly informed. And I really prefer that all players get the same game instead of feeling like you miss something out. Next gen is overrated anyways. Only GTA6 will be a reason to buy next gen, otherwise you're a fool and shouldn't be wondered that you're feeling like a fool when you already bought a next gen console..
People who bought next gen are idiots, the only reason to buy a next gen console will be GTA6 and that's it. I'm happy I still have my PS4 from 2015, never thought it would get games for so long lol

Here's the truth about this:
Everyone blames Microsoft with Xbox Series S for holding back games. Sony only has maybe 4 releases that you can't play on PS4: Demon Souls, Ratchet, Returnal, and Spider Man 2, and everything but Demon Souls and Spider Man 2 are on PC. Microsoft knew based upon the console sales in 2018 – 2019 that there was no way most people could afford to upgrade to a $500 game system. Then COVID hit spike those last gen number harder. It was a gamble that paid off.
Microsoft just wants to sell Gamepass and Gamepass cost the same on S that it does on X. Most kids are playing on a 1080p TV with 60hz anyways. You think Mom and Dad are buying a $850 4K TV for little Johnny's room? Now you can buy a next gen console for $250 and play CoD at a better quality than a PS4. On top of that, both consoles still cost $500 at a point in time when it's even harder to afford that than ever.
Microsoft didn't hold back this generation any more or less than Sony has. Microsoft made a risky move and it paid off. PS5 just isn't as enticing to own now that you can get literally everything on PC. The physical box as a platform is a long gone idea for those companies. They will sell you the box, but they aren't pushing them. They are just a catalyst to the services.
I take it most of you are single men, maybe married without children? Most of the game players in the world are either kids or families. Mom and Dad can't find that extra $550 for a PS5. Then $70 for one game. You are the minority of the 50 million of PS5 owners. You are the minority of the 29 million Xbox Series owners. That's real talk.
Wish they would have supported the 360 as long as they’ve been supporting x1 and ps4.

I mean its the same game as 10 years ago. Just slow the fps down and adjust the loading time. I get what you're saying about the destructible environments and maps and stuff…… but its C.O.D…… they werent ever gonna do that. They are gonna reskin the old shit and send it right back out.
Cyberpunk 2077 coming to last gen was one of its biggest mistakes, there’s a reason why the huge update that fixed so much never made it to the last gen versions of the game.

Its forgotten how to innovate or demand better. The last true gen switch was the 360 to the one era. I remember Black ops 3 releasing on 360 and it was mind meltingly bad. But I bet this game will also run nearly as bad but hey people will play it i guess.

Don’t care I love my series x and it’s more powerful then the ps5 so they should’ve jus made it Xbox exclusive but keep it next and last gen Cold War released on last gen and next gen and it plays amazing 120 fps clean jus annoying gaystation gettin in the way of Xbox’s own studios

I think people forget that being next gen only doesn't actually mean anything. Performance and scaling options have existed for decades. For example Mirage needs a 3090 on Ultra graphics, but it also runs on an iPhone. Sure it looks like a potato on the iPhone, but it runs. Just by being on last gen, doesn't really mean anything, provided the devs spent the time optimizing for all platforms.
The “just get a pc” mentality makes more and more sense everyday. I haven’t needed a hardware upgrade in years, even lasted thru the ps4 era.
And I can still play modern games pretty damn smoothly over 60 fps
Black Ops 3 was also on PS3, but the game was designed for PS4 and you can tell clearly, so no reason to be worried really
Force them to upgrade it’s been a long time . I bet a ton will upgrade to a ps5 or Xbox S/x if they made it next gen exclusive . Lots can probably afford to upgrade but just aren’t cause there’s no need cause games are still made for them
The reason they're releasing call of duty on last jen, is because a majority of PlayStation owners have not upgraded a ps5. Theres no point. Especially if all you do is play cod. And that's what a majority of PlayStation users do, they casually play COD
I can’t even imagine buying a switch 2 and then using all of the memory on that and my memory card just for one CoD game when there are actual good games under Nintendos belt 😂

Mw 2022 looks in credible though. So who cares. Warzone 2 looks phenomenal tho. And i dont thinks its limited in potential scale. Warzone and mw2022 show it doesnt matter. The iw engine is one of the best fricking engine out there right now. Its incredible on pc. Its incredible on current gen games.
Bringing a game to last gen isn't the flex they think it is. Because if you made a game that will run on last gen tech that means you are shortchanging the people who spent the money to buy the current gen… and any game that still runs on last gen has no business charging $70+.
I remember when a game would release on both current gen and last gen but the last gen version was always downgraded and worse and that should still be the expectation and case
