I don’t hate the cinematic for the new dragon age since it feels like there doing a borderlands 1 kinda intro. I think it’s fun.
That DA:O trailer didn't look anything like the actual gameplay. And everyone's face is pretty damn 'rough'.
OF COURSE, 1) that's still a highly polished, awesome trailer and 2) the game is epic!

We're at a stage now where a short gameplay trailer immediately exposes that there are blue and/or green haired employees behind the scenes actively working on the development of the title. Those are the kind of folks you DO NOT want messing with precious IPs such as Dragon Age. Perverts are ruining everything.

It's so corny nowdays. This stuff just doesn't take itself seriously at all.
As a gen Z member myself, the impression I get from these "modern audience" versions of popular franchises is that companies actually hate their audience and just want an excuse to drive them away. These companies know that we know how awful they are, but instead of admitting that they're wrong, they'd much rather replace them. And there's no better way to do than to bastardize your popular franchises. Combine that with the ESG/DEI, and you have the update for a modern audience trope. I may not have played a Dragon Age game, but even I can tell that this is a complete bastardization of a beloved game series.

No artists make AAA games anymore, AAA games are just a product made by businessmen. Think of Carmack and Romero. Executive kind of guys? Hell naw, they're top shelf artists and creative geniuses. Glad I can still play any game from the past, which is something that won't be possible for all these unnecessary online only/live games.

My first thought was “this looks like a dlc trailer for Mortal Kombat” and while that is cool, that isn’t Dragon Age. And it didn’t get any better as it continued.
