Callaway Golf Women’s Two-Tone Geometric Polo
Sizes: XS-XXL
Colors: 1 (Brilliant White)
Fabric: 95% Recycled Polyester/5% Elastane
+ Ultimate comfort
+ Clever Opti-Dri technology keeps you comfortable
– You’re not a fan of bold patterns.
This shirt has a fancy geometric print that really stands out for a snazzy look, and I love how this print on the arms of the shirt matches the detail around the hem of Callaway’s two-tone geometric blocked skort, making this a very stylish set. The neutral navy and brilliant white are very classic, appealing to a wide range of women.
The downside of brilliant white is that it shows dirt very easily. I must confess that I managed to get a bit of mud on my shirt on its first outing, although it did wash out easily. I love that the material dries quickly and doesn’t crease, so you can wear it straight on out of the wash. This quick-dry quality comes courtesy of Callaway Golf’s Opti-Dri technology, designed to wick moisture away from your body so you don’t feel hot and sticky, even in extreme heat. The fabric has a luxurious, super soft feel against the skin and just enough stretch to be flattering while very functional.

The Ping Collection Rumour offers various patterns, with the white-aruba being the most understated. For those who enjoy bold floral designs, the pink blossom is a beautiful option, while the navy/multi fabric provides a modern twist.
The stretch fabric ensures a great fit, it allowed easy movement without clinging to the body or arms. It’s also crease-resistant and dries quickly after washing with no need for ironing, which is a big plus. I particularly like the eye-catching metallic buttons that add a stand-out detail to front of the polo.

Fabric: 74% Polyester (recycled)/19% cotton/7% elastane
+ Lovely soft feel
+ Lightweight and comfortable
– Slightly too short on sleeves and body length
I really appreciate the soft feel of a traditional cotton polo shirt. The Go-To Heathered Polo from adidas is incredibly soft, and when I first wore it, I assumed it was 100% cotton. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it is only 19% cotton, with the rest made from recycled polyester. It’s great to see brands taking steps to reduce plastic waste.
Regarding performance, the shirt fits well and is comfortable for golfing. Although I wear a size XL and would have preferred a bit more length in the body and sleeves, I still see this as a staple in my summer wardrobe.
Under Armour Women’s Playoff Ace Polo
Sizes: XS-XXL
Colors: 2 (Matrix Green, Celeste/Starlight)

The color includes a hint of navy, which I love, and the pop of green is a nice touch that will look great year-round and pair well with various bottoms like white, navy, and black.
I believe Under Armour excels in sporty golf wear because their designs prioritise free movement. Choose this top if you prefer versatile apparel with a pop of colour. However, if you prefer to stand out with more modern golf wear, this might not be the right pick for you.
Abacus Ladies Sand Half Sleeve Polo
Sizes: XS-XXL
Colors: 2 (Navy, Poppy Red)
Fabric: 98% Polyester/2% Spandex

+ Extremely comfortable fabric
– Not an option in very warm weather
This polo top is exactly my style. It has a versatile look, almost suitable for work and I absolutely love the navy color. The white trim adds a touch of interest and sophistication, complemented by the knitted collar and cuffs. It’s perfect for those days when you don’t want to go sleeveless, but it’s not cold either, and the v-neck is very flattering. The fabric is soft, stretchy and non-restrictive.
While I usually wear sportstech polos, the often feel like they trap heat, but this one didn’t. It’s become a new favorite since in works well on its own or under a gilet. It pairs nicely with trousers and would look lovely with a skirt. If you tend to get hot easily, this might not be the best choice as it can get warm.

Sizes: XS-XXL

This Nivo Lolita Mock is extremely lightweight and delightful to wear. Its delicate fabric features sheer sections, such as under your arms, allowing for excellent air circulation as you swing. This keeps you cool and comfortable on the course, and I like the zip-front style and lovely patterns.
Covering up to protect your skin on a hot summer’s day makes a lot of sense so much sense, but I’ve always found long-sleeve tops too hot until I tried this one. It’s so light, and there’s no need to worry about getting sunburt as it has in-built UPF 50+. The fabric is packed with technology, including anti-microbial properties and moisture wicking capabilities, helping you look and feel fresh.

Fabric: 44% Polyester/44% recycled Polyester/12% Elastane
+ Lightweight and great for layering
+ Mesh material keeps you cool
– Care needs to be taken on the mesh when washing
This layering top is perfect to protect you during your round. I tend to wear long sleeves as much as I can when coaching in the summer and this top is perfect under a sleeveless polo. I like the neckline with a quarter zip, as this combines to its overall modern look.
The mesh keeps you cool and is situated in exactly the places you’d get a bit hot, including under the arms and from the shoulders to the middle of your neck down to the shoulder blades. The fit is flattering and not clingy, but if you wear it as a top layer it would be worth sizing up. It’s made from 44% recycled polyester, so you’re doing your bit for planet earth with this garment too.
Golftini Long Sleeve Lisa Sport Polo
Colors: 4 (Navy, Hot Pink, White, Black)
Sizes: XS-XXL
Fabric: 88% Poly/12% Spandex
+ Fairly thick 2-ply fabric, almost resembles high-end gym wear
+ Flattering cinched sleeve design
– Not the longest top, if you’re a larger size, should size up
This buttery soft white top has potentially swayed me to wear more white. Thanks to the 2-ply fabric, it isn’t see-through and the extra thickness of the top means it holds its shape and doesn’t hug. I particularly like the v-neck collar, which sets it apart from other plain white tops, and the cinched sleeves are extra flattering.
The fabric also features UPF 30, so a great skin saver in the summer sun. I’ve begun to wear long sleeves in sunnier conditions to protect my skin and this top ticks that box without me over heating! I found it very comfortable to wear, as there’s plenty of stretch, and I’m already eying up the navy version, as this top is good for golf and everything in between.
IBKUL Naomi Print Long Sleeve Quarter Zip Top
Colors: Selection of prints
Sizes: XS-XXL
Fabric: 92% Nylon/8% Polyurethane
+ Unique styling with adjustable sides
+ Comfortable fabric
– Looks best outside, so not an option if you like to tuck in
This top is exceptionally lightweight, soft and stretchy and I was also pleased to see that it features UPF 50+, so there’s no chance of any sunburn. There’s also mesh under the arms to keep you cool and comfortable. IBKUL is renowned for its bold and colorful prints, so while this Naomi print might not suit everyone, I really like it, you can team it with a matching skort – that will certainly get you noticed!
What sets this long-sleeve top apart are the adjustable ties along the sides that you can pull and gather the seams to create the length you prefer. For the best look, wear it hanging loose rather than tucking in. This does provide an ultra feminine and flattering fit, and with the two bows either side and collar, this is such a versatile piece.
Famara Sheer Sleeve Golf Shirt
Colors: 10
Sizes: XS-XL
Fabric: 85% Polyester/15% Elastane
+ Incredibly stylish
+ Excellent choice of colors
– Not an option if you’re looking for short sleeves
This shirt isn’t new for 2024, but due to its popularity, it’s become a year-round wardrobe staple. It’s made in a polyester and spandex mix and the fabric feels almost velvety, as it’s super soft to touch and you can feel its generous stretch even before putting it on. I like the quarter zip, as you can regulate your body temperature and the zip on this shirt is nicely concealed.
The sheer sleeves with a delicate ladder mesh detail and neat fitting cuffs are what set this shirt apart from other women’s golf shirts. It also has an unobtrusive Famara logo in white on the left side of the chest and at the bottom of the right sleeve. This is a glamorous golf shirt and I would be more than happy to wear it on a day-to-day basis.
IBKUL Gingham Check Print Long Sleeve Mock
Colors: 7
Sizes: XS-XXL
Fabric: 92% Nylon/8% Polyurethane
+ Premium quality fabric
+ Lightweight and very comfortable
– Print won’t suit everyone
What I first noticed about this long sleeve shirt is the quality of the lightweight fabric. It’s really smooth, almost silk-like, so it feels lovely next to your skin, and with UPF 50+ you’re totally protected from the sun’s harmful rays. I have not yet experienced wearing this top on an extremely hot day, but Ibkul’s Icefil technology helps to reduce body temperature by up to 5 degrees to keep you comfortable.
The mesh under the sleeves aids airflow, plus this is a nice design detail along with the zip to the mock collar. The body is not too clingy, so it’s very comfortable for golf or any other activities, and can be worn tucked in or out. I like the all-over Gingham print. It’s very bold, something I would not usually go for, but I received many positive compliments.
Callaway Ladies Birdie & Eagle Print Long Sleeve Golf Top
Colors: 1 (Brilliant White)
Sizes: XS-XXL
Fabric: 90% Nylon/10% Elastane
+ Oozes personality thanks to the parrot pattern

The vibrant parrot pattern and colors of this long-sleeve top instantly drew me in, reflecting my love for fun, funky fashion in women’s golf clothing. The lightweight, velvety-soft fabric offers complete sun protection while keeping you cool and comfortable. The material is almost translucent but provides coverage, with in-built UVA protection preventing skin damage.
The top is fitted yet flattering, floating lightly over your trousers or skort. It accommodates larger arms and tapers neatly at the wrists, ensuring no interference with your swing. The round neck mock-style collar and long-zip front add style and functionality, with moisture-wicking, quick-dry, and anti-odor properties making it practical for both the course and the clubhouse.
A. Putnam Long Sleeve Polo
Colors: 2 (Bright White/Black and Bright White/Bisque)
Sizes: XS-XXL
Fabric:
+ Luxury personified and comfortale
+ Almost more appeal off the course than on it
– sheer material requires the right bra!
You’d be mistaken for thinking this was a top bought from a high-end designer shop that just starred in New York Fashion Week. What a gorgeous piece and could be transformed from the most classy golf top into a chic evening outfit with skinny leather trousers and strappy heels!
The fit is loose and floaty and the fabric delicate and luxurious. Yet swinging in this comes easily and it would look beautiful with either the skort or black kick flares from the same collection. It’s a great length so doesn’t rise up on the follow through and could be tucked in if needed.
A. Putnam have really pushed the world of golf fashion to new limits here and I think they’ve smashed it. I can’t wait to wear this top out to dinner let alone on the golf course.
Skorts
Skorts remain popular, probably because they are so versatile. A skort is perfect to wear for a number of different activities, while adding a touch of femininity to a woman’s style. There are various colors, designs, fabrics and lengths to choose from so it’s not surprising that a skort is a staple in golfers’ wardrobes.
Colors: 2

This Jackie O-inspired A-Line skort exudes class. When paired with vibrant colors on top or on your feet, you can create a true 60s-inspired look. Match it with a sleeveless white top or a long sleeve polo shirt, and you’ll instantly radiate elegance.
The skort is well-structured, featuring deep pockets – two in the front and one in the back, and with beautiful piping. The attention to detail is very impressive. The internal shorts feel like silky pyjama bottoms, offering minimal stretch and being pretty sheer. I’d be mindful when lining my putts up in this one! my putts up carefully in this one! Though at 16” it’s long enough to be modest. This skort is a fun and timeless piece that will endure and has already got me excited for summer.
Colors: 3

Nivo’s Abi skort is a prime example of a summer wardrobe essential. Crafted from sporty stretch Lycra, it offers a fantastic fit. The Lycra fabric hugs your skin, providing a flattering silhouette while remaining soft to the touch and very comfortable to wear.
Underneath, matching Lycra shorts offer comfort and privacy, ensuring full freedom of movement for your swing. I love how the material floats at the back of the skort, thanks to the elegant folds.
The downside is that the skort does tend to be quite short, so if you have long legs you may find it looks more like a mini skirt.

The A-line design will flatter most female golfers. While it fits snugly, the sculpted shape provides comfort and an attractive appearance. I also appreciate the wide waistband, which, combined with the stretch fabric, ensures a comfortable fit. There’s a deep pocket on the left-hand side at the bottom, perfect for a few tee pegs. The in-built shorts come with a small pocket and since they are attached to the waistband, they stay perfectly in place.

– Bottom of shorts are quite thick and might dig in
This skort is extremely light and has a sensible length, ensuring it won’t blow around in the wind and reveal the shorts underneath.
The undershorts feature a logo embossed gripper at the bottom, to prevent them from riding up, although this adds a bit of extra thickness. Unlike most undershorts, which tend to be almost invisible, these feel more like shorts under a skirt, although this does not affect the overall comfort.
The pattern is very flattering, concealing any lumps or bumps, and the tri-color stripe down the right side gives this skort a sporty look. It has two rear pockets that are best suited to light items, as the fabric is super stretchy and lightweight.

The material is soft to the touch, with just enough stretch to ensure a comfortable fit, allowing for complete freedom of movement. At 17 inches, I appreciate that this skort is slightly longer than others I’ve tried, and it will definitely suit the women with longer legs. A. Putnam Kick Flare Pants
Sizes: XS-XXL
Colors: 2 (Black and Grid Clay)
+ Stretchy and extremely flattering
+ Water and stain repellant
– Material doesn’t feel as luxurious as you’d expect for the price.
It’s been a while since I wore kick flares and I appreciate the extra curves they create, which is a plus for someone with skinny legs. The pull-on design and the extra stretch in the material ensure a beautiful fit.
The fabric was surprising. I usually prefer other brands that have a feel to the fabric that is less durable, but don’t let that deter you. When I wore these on the course in light drizzle, I didn’t need my waterproof trousers – a huge bonus. They stretch and move with you, and the sizing is a bit generous, so you can afford to size down. I love the pattern on the Grid Clay pair.

The seams of the two front pockets are accented with shiny silver studs, and there are two patch-style back pockets, providing ample space for carrying accessories. The length is ideal, falling just below the calf of our 5ft 5” tester, and the slits at the leg openings add a touch of style. Women will find these pants versatile for both on and off the golf course.
Abacus Ladies Merion 7/8 Pants
Sizes: 32-48
Colors: 2 (Navy, Violet)
Fabric: 88% polyamide/12% spandex
+ Stretch provides great comfort
+ High waist and handy pockets
– Pattern won’t suit everyone
The stretch on these trousers is excellent, delivering the promised 4-way flexibility. I found them very comfortable, unlike some golf trousers that feel unpleasant and synthetic on warm days. While the pattern isn’t something I would typically choose – it pairs very nicely with a polo shirt.
The high waist, handy pockets, and belt loops are features I appreciate. The only downsides are that the white fabric stains easily, which is problematic on muddy courses. After sitting on some mud in the buggy, the stains didn’t come out even after three washes. Additionally, the zip is a bit flimsy, causing me to accidentally fly low a couple of times!
Golftini Stretch Ankle Pants
Sizes: XXS-XL
Colors: 11
Fabric: 91% nylon/9% spandex
+ Stretchy and extremely flattering
+ Wide waistband helps to create a flattened stomach
– Fastener and zip caught a bit but have loosened as I’ve used these more.
These fantastic, flattering trousers in a striking red are made from extremely stretchy material that complements all sizes. Available in an impressive 11 colors and sizes ranging from XXS to XL, you may need to size down due to the extra stretch. I’d even wear these trousers out to dinner.
The fit, along with the beautiful piped seams down the pockets and legs, creates a lovely silhouette and a high-end feel. The deep rear pockets are spacious enough to fit a mobile phone. Water repellent and tested for durability, these trousers are both classy and practical.

– Not an option if you prefer a fashion fit
Maybe trousers with the word ‘drive’ will encourage my driver to perform better! These trousers are functionally perfect and ideal for everyday golfing. They’re extremely comfortable, with an elasticated back for a great fit that moves with you.
I really liked the cut – not too tight or too baggy, but nicely tapered and flattering. These are great for those who want an easy, non-fuss pair of trousers. But if you prefer fashion-forward fits and like to stand out, these might not be for you.
Sizes: 6-20
Colors: 2 (Black, Navy)
+ Comfortable material
+ Modern styling
+ Slim leg won’t suit everyone
The Verity trousers from Ping are made in a polyester/elastane blend fabric, which is very lightweight and has a nice soft feel. Available in two colors – black or navy – They provide a flattering fit, although while the fabric is slightly stretchy, they do have a very slim leg, so won’t suit everyone.
There is plenty of detail to shout about that adds to the modern styling, including a split hem and belt loops that allow you to accessorize. There are also two angled pockets at the front with a tiny stud underneath, and the two back pockets have a standout silver zip. They are suitable to wear at any time of year and, another big plus point, is that they are easy to care for, crease-resistant, and no ironing!
Macade Four-Way Stretch Jogger

A fantastic pair of cropped, sporty pants that deliver a sleek design on the course that is also very smart. They are snug but comfortable and offer up a jogger style fit that many ladies will enjoy.
Sliding them on for the first time, these joggers were supremely comfortable to wear – offering four-way stretch so they fit like a jegging. They hug your legs as a result and deliver great shaping that, goes with anything, making them a very versatile and great to wear pair of trousers. The leg length is gently cropped and the joggers are finished with cuffed ankles that are complete with a zipper. The athletic touch really sets these bottoms apart from a classic cropped pant with great pockets.
Puma PWRSHAPE Women’s Pants
Sizes: XS-2XL
Colors: 2 (Black, Navy Blazer)
+ Very comfortable
+ Stretches to keep their fit
+ Flattering fit
– Side seams could sit more flat
We were very impressed with the fit of these golf trousers. They’re named PWRShape Pants, which sounds very American, but is actually a really great way to describe them. They have the perfect 4-way stretch to allow them to mould and shape to fit pretty much any physique, whether you are tall and lean or short and stocky like me.
The Puma PWRShape Pant have the most fabulous flattering fit, that although initially feels quite snug, really does allow you complete swing freedom and flexibility. The really high and wide waistband was another highlight. Not only did it make the trousers look very slimming, hiding any unwanted lumps and bumps, but it felt very comfortable to wear.
Shorts/Dresses
Summer golf is when we have the best choice of clothing and in addition to skorts, we have shorts and dresses on offer. While they might not be as popular as skorts nowadays, shorts are here to stay, and many here to stay and with many brands now producing dresses, more women are choosing giving them a chance.
Adidas Ultimate365 Tour Pleated Dress
Colors: 3 (Semi-Blue Burst, Preloved Ink and Preloved Fig)
Sizes: XS-XL
Fabric: 65% Recycled Polyester/35% Polyester
+ Shapewear feel for a flattering and athletic fit
+ 3 zipped pocket, plus a pocket in the undershorts
– It is short and flirty, so won’t suit everyone
This dress feels incredible on, and it felt extremely comfortable when swinging a club. The upper body has an almost panel feel to the torso as it sucked me in like good shapewear. It has a full pleated skirt, which flicks out in a flirty style. The undershorts are longer than hot pants so maintain modesty even in the wind.
The color choices are fun and feminine. The material is thick enough to be flattering and not clingy, while the TwistKnit tech regulates your temperature, so ideal for summer golf. This dress is made from using 70% recycled materials, which means adidas tick a big box in my camp. The great thing about this dress is that it’s so versatile, perfect for golf and tennis.
Colors: 3 (Light Pink/Hot Pink, Zoo Blue/Navy, Masters Green/Navy)
Sizes: XXS-XL
Fabric: 89% Poly/11% Spandex
+ Comfortable and super stylish
+ An extremely versatile summer dress
– Not an option if white is really not your color
If they haven’t done so already, women do need to give dresses a chance. When I first saw this dress, I wasn’t sure it would suit me, but I absolutely love it and it will look even better when I’ve got a tan! This dress is made from a soft fabric with generous stretch, it comes with built-in undershorts and is nicely lined, so I found it to be comfortable and breathable. Also true to size without any gaping under the arms.
In plain white with a simple two-tone ribbon trim, it’s the dropped waist and v-neck collar that creates such a chic and flattering look. There’s a very small pocket at the front for a few tee pegs and a nicely concealed scorecard pocket at the back, which is highlighted by Golftini’s Martini glass logo. So versatile, ideal for golf, tennis or any other lifestyle activity.
Colors: 3 (Papaya, Sea Reflection, White)
Sizes: XS-XL
Fabric: 75% Nylon, 25% Spandex
+ Complete freedom of movement
+ Stylish looks and attractive color options
– Figure-hugging fabric is unflattering if you have a larger silhouette
Nivo’s Ally dress has been thoughtfully designed for play on a hot day. The fabric has in-built UPF 40+ and has subtle air holes from the top of the neck down the back, designed to be cooling by allowing air flow to help regulate your body temperature. It comes with a pair of Lycra undershorts and I love the poppers that allow you to clip the shorts to your dress when you hang it up.
The Lycra Sport material provides a snug, yet comfortable fit. Tight enough that it definitely won’t float around and interfere with your swing, yet incredibly soft to touch. I felt very sporty wearing this dress and found the freedom of swing movement ideal. The only downside is that it is very figure hugging, so if you are body conscious and curvy you may not find this dress very flattering.
Sizes: XS-XL
Colors: 4 (Navy Checked, Pink Checked, Navy, Black)
Fabric: 90% Polyester/10% Spandex
+ Great pockets
+ Flattering pattern and shape
– Look a tiny bit like school uniform
This dress is different and that’s why I love it. It’s great to find a dress that covers your shoulders, protecting them from the sun. With two front pockets it’s extremely practical and looks great on. The check design is a bit school uniform but I think it’s fun.
Having separate mesh shorts is handy though with any shorts under a dress, it’s always nice to have slightly higher waisted ones. These are mid rise and may not quite create that sought after silhouette. The fit is loose and extremely flattering and easy to swing in. I’m not a pink person but believe if I had the navy one I’d literally live in this.
Abacus Brook Stripe Shorts
Sizes: XS – XXL
Colors: 3 (Black, White, Indigo)
+ Easy to wear
+ Modern styling
– Shorter length won’t suit everyone
Made from a stretchable, highly breathable and lightweight fabric, the Brook stripe shorts offer exceptional comfort. Available in navy, peacock blue or black, the two-tone stripe tape in pink/purplish and white along the sides transforms a plain pair of shorts into an eye-catching piece. Paired with an Abacus Erin polo shirt, it creates a striking outfit.
These shorts have a 13.5cm inseam, which is shorter than most, but it’s good that this option is available. inseam They sit nicely at the waist, feature belt loop, and have two front and two back pockets for carrying accessories. Overall, these are excellent summer shorts that are perfect for on an off the golf course.
Colors: 11
Sizes: XS-XL (Short and Regular Length)
Fabric:
+ Stretch fabric provides a fantastic fit
+ Two different length options
– Stretch material is quite figure hugging
These shorts are really comfortable. There is plenty of stretch to allow an athletic fit that although is figure-hugging in silhouette, ultimately ensures that you have complete swing freedom.
There are two generous back pockets and deep side pockets, so you have options for storing tees, scorecard and your glove, depending on your preference. Belt buckles allow you to add your own fashionable accessory, although a belt certainly isn’t needed to keep these up as the stretch does the job. The short length may not suit all builds, especially women with long legs. They might look a little like hot pants!

Mid Layers
The mid-layer is an item of clothing that you should never be without. During winter months, we know that layering is key to keeping us warm while still managing to swing a club. In spring and summer, either before the sun comes up, or when it goes down and there is a chill in the air, having a mid-layer to pull out of your bag and slip makes for a far more enjoyable round.
Golftini Martini Crewneck Sweater
Colors: 3 (Hot Pink, Navy, Black)
Sizes: XS-XL
Fabric: 80% Rayon/20% Nylon
+ Supersoft fabric
+ Modern and styling
– Not an option if you want a thicker and much warmer sweater
This crewneck sweater from Golftini combines fun and function beautifully. I love the hot pink color, which is a perfect match for the brand’s Downtime skort amongst others in the collection. The fabric is very light and super soft, so ideal for layering over a polo shirt to keep you cosy, although I’d happily wear this sweater on its own with a pair of jeans.
I would say it’s true to size, there’s stretch in fabric and it’s not clingy. The styling is modern with delicate ribbing around the neck, cuffs and hem. It has a split hem and this gives it a relaxed look and feel. No Golftini item is complete without the Martini glass logo and on this sweater there are two – a small one bottom left and a larger glass on the sleeve!
Colors: 1 (Bright White)
Sizes: XS-XXL
Fabric: Double knit
+ A total statement piece
+ Multiple uses for different lifestyle occasions
– The neck is very long, so it’s hard to wear fully zipped
This definitely did not have a hanger appeal to me, but wow, when I put it on I fell in love. Available only in bright white with black detail, it is a true Jackie O inspired piece that teams beautifully with the Pocket skort. This would garnish any golfing and fashion loving woman’s wardrobe.
The fabric, which has an eco-friendly stain/water-resistant coating is heavy, but not overbearing and it fits beautifully. The neck is super high and would suit a woman with a long torso far more than me. Though I will be living in it, not just on the golf course but with heels and skinny jeans or a pencil skirt. Sheer brilliance design wise and this brand is a game changer when it comes to women’s golf fashion.
Colors: 1 (Black)
Sizes: XS-XL
Fabric: Rayon 81%/Polyester 19%
+ Luxurious fabric
+ Striking design
+Dry clean only
As soon as you pick up this sweater, you can immediately feel the luxurious smooth and soft texture of the fabric, which is a stretchy wool-knit blend. It’s true to size and while the design is fairly simple with just the contrasting color ribbing on the waistband and sleeves, it’s very striking.
The boat-neck is a design that is uncommon in the current women’s golf apparel collections, as zipped mid layers seem to be very popular at the moment, so this is a welcome change and I found it very flattering. It has ergonomic seams for comfort and I really like the understated ribbing that runs along each side and under each arm.
PING Collection Harby Ladies Printed Jacket
Colors: 3 (Navy Multi, Aruba Blue/White, White/Navy
Sizes: 6-20
Fabric: 80% Recycled Polyester/20% Elastane
+ Lightweight mid layer that doesn’t crease
+ In-built technology that makes it cool and comfortable
– Not an option if you don’t like funky patterns or an athletic fit
The Harby, like the majority of garments from Ping Collection, is made from a very high percentage of recycled fabric. It’s really commendable to see that Ping’s designers are bringing sustainable fabrics to the fore and putting a lot of environmental thought into the design and development.
In terms of comfort, the Harby is sporty in style, much like a top you’d wear to train at the gym. It has a snug, flexible stretch fit that allows you to make a full, fast golf swing without any restriction of movement. The cleverly shaped cuffs are important as they prevent the top from getting in the way when you are putting. There are two discreet zipped pockets at the front. Although it’s long-sleeved, you won’t feel hot wearing it. There’s some hidden SensorCool technology that prevents perspiration, so you’ll smell fresh after a round.
Puma You-V Paradise Women’s Golf ¼ Zip Pullover
Colors: Deep Navy / White Glow or White Glow / Sparkling Green
Sizes: XS-XXL
Fabric: 92% Polyester/8% Elastane
+ Comfortable and versatile layer
+. UV sun protection
– Bold print won’t appeal to everyone
This is not a pullover in the traditional sense because it’s made from a lightweight, silky soft fabric that includes 30% recycled materials. It has a vibrant all-over floral print that will definitely get you noticed on the fairways this summer.
Top marks for versatility because the relaxed fit means that you can easily wear this mid layer on its own, like a long-sleeve shirt, or you can create a complete outfit with Puma’s sleeveless shirt in the same print, so it’s an ideal layer for covering up if there is a chill in the air. The ¼ zip extends to the mock neck, great for regulating your body temperature and one of the key features of this layer is the You-V UPF 50+ protection against harmful UV rays.
FootJoy Lightweight Hoodie
Colors: 1 (Mint)
Sizes: XS-XXL
Fabric: 100% Polyester
+ Ultralightweight and with UV protection
+ Soft to touch fabric
– Fabric pulls easily if washed with anything Velcro
This lightweight hoodie is made from the softest Micro Poly Jacquard stretch fabric in a lovely fresh color. It’s so feminine and comfortable to wear, plus it doesn’t crease so it looked good from the beginning to the end of the round. Some hoodies can be bulky, but this is not one of them. I will admit to living in this on and off the course. I will definitely be wearing this UV finished top in the summer to protect my skin from the rays.
It is so airy it would lend itself to other athletic adventures such as a run with the dog, especially with a cheeky zipped pocket at the rear for either poo bags, tee pegs or house key in the rear. I’m sad to say that after machine washing it’s got a few pulls, so take care to wash with delicates.
Rohnisch Adele Knitted Sweater
Colors: Navy, Beige, Pink
Sizes: XXS-XXXL
Fabric: 75% cotton/22% polyamide/3% elastane
+ Classic styling
+ Soft and comfortable
– Not an option if you’re not looking for a classic design
This plain knit, regular fit sweater in an organic cotton and elastane mix is noticeably soft and lightweight with a finely ribbed hem and cuffs. It’s stretchy, but holds its shape after a round of golf and a machine wash. What appeals to us most about this useful spring/summer layer is its timeless, classic design, which is so smart.
It comes in three color options with decorative stripes highlighting the v-neck. If you wear this sweater paired with Rohnisch’s navy Chie capris, while it might look and feel plain compared with the variety of brightly colored and patterned outfits available to women golfers, in our opinion, it’s a very classy looking combination that can definitely be worn on the golf course and beyond for years to come.
Colors: 9
Sizes: XS-XL
Fabric: Polyester 92%/Spandex 8%
+ Lightweight and comfortable
+ Stretchy fabric aids movement
– Difficult to fault, but style might not suit everyone
This a versatile and lightweight jacket that is ideal to wear if there is a chill in the air. I like the white trim around the mandarin-style collar and the white zips on the two side pockets because against the deep purple, this makes an eye-catching jacket. The zip pullers are a shiny silver diamond shape and these are also a nice addition to the overall detailing.
The fabric is a mix of polyester and spandex, and while it feels as light as a feather, it has a soft fleece-type lining for adequate warmth when you need it. I wore this jacket comfortably over a polo shirt, but the stretchy fabric makes it generous enough to add a slightly thicker layer underneath, while still providing a modern and flattering appearance.
Galvin Green Destiny Insulating Mid Layer
Colors: White/Cool Gray, Black/White, Navy/White, Camelia Rose/White, Alaskan Blue/White
Sizes: XS-XXL
Fabric: 90% polyester 10% elastane
+ Comfortable and versatile
+ Modern and sporty design
– Snug fit won’t suit everyone
If you’re looking for a versatile layer that you can wear throughout the year, either as a lightweight jacket during milder months or as a mid layer when it’s colder, then the Destiny is worth considering.
The first thing you notice is the soft and stretchy fabric that fits for a sporty look with a feminine and snug cut. It does not only provide comfort for complete freedom of movement, but the thermal insulation is spot on. The white/cool gray option is not the most practical colorway, makeup will easily transfer onto the collar when it’s zipped up, but it is machine washable and the fabric is quick dry, so it’s worth it for such a super smart layer that women will be happy to wear on and off the golf course.
FootJoy Women’s Full-Zip Fleece
Sizes: XS-XL
Colors: 2 (Black, Peach)
+ Unusual design is eye catching
+ Can act as a waterproof layer
– Asymmetrical zip may be off putting to some
This fleece performed brilliantly out on the course and offered excellent thermal properties. Such was the performance, we would also trust this in some fairly moderate rainfall as, in testing, when caught out a few times wearing this walking and playing, it kept us bone dry. Because of this, we believe that it will be one of those items that you use a lot. Something that will go with everything.
Looks wise, it didn’t blow us away and our tester did have slight trouble with the asymmetry of the zip, which we know will divide opinion. However, we did think the pockets on the fleece are lovely and deep and we could swing really freely in it. Lastly, with just two color options, it will vary on tastes, but we think the peach one stood out more, with a pop of colour and interesting design a winner.
Crew Clothing Women’s Chevron Golf Sweatshirt
Sizes: 6-18
Colors: 1 (Blue/Pink)
+ Comfortable fit
+ Relaxed yet smart, with an eye-catching design
– Only one color combination
Crew is still relatively new to the golf market, with the Chevron sweatshirt a new addition this season. The fabric is really soft and smooth, but the first thing we noticed was it felt slightly weighty, although this is not a negative, as the deep ribbed hem detail at the bottom and the cuffs helped to provide an overall comfortable and flattering fit.
We also loved the block color combination of blue, pink, and white; a half zip gives you the option to allow your neck to breathe, plus the two Crew logos are sensibly subtle. This is not a sweatshirt in the traditional sense, other than the kangaroo pocket at the front, which we found to be a cozy place to warm both hands. If you like the color, this will be a very practical and stylish addition to your wardrobe.
Puma Womens YouV Cloud Quarter Zip
Sizes: UK 10-16
Colors: 3 (Orchid Shadow, Navy Blazer, Day Dream)
The first thing that struck me about this log-sleeve polo is how lovely and light it was to wear. The fabric has a luxurious quality feel that’s delicate against the skin and super soft to touch. So light, in fact, that you hardly notice you are wearing it. This is ideal on both warm days or a cooler day if you like to wear long layers.
The shape of the polo is perfect for golf, it is fitted yet flowing, allowing total swing freedom and doesn’t sag or bag around the waist when you putt. The 1/4 zip closure allows you to wear the zip a little down to stay cool and refreshed. What’s impressive is that there’s in-built hidden UPF 50+ sun protection – hence the clever, twist on the name ‘YOU-V’.
Abacus Kinloch Mid Layer Jacket
Sizes: XS-XXL
Colors: 5 (Black/White, White/Black, Turmeric, White Iris, Navy/White)
+ Lightweight
+ Comfortable fit
+ Versatile layer
– White sleeves are not the easiest to keep clean
What you first notice about the Kinloch mid layer jacket from Abacus is the stretchy and soft-to-touch fabric, which has a lightly brushed feel on the inside for extra warmth. There are 5 colour options to choose from including white/iris and this colour combination sets off the Erin polo shirt and Brook stripe shorts to complete a striking outfit.
The two side zipped pockets are nicely concealed and the full zip extends all the way to the top of the neck if you need extra protection. The roomy Raglan-style white sleeves are in contrast to the all-over navy front and back, while the pink/purplish colour of the zipper trims and inside the collar give this layer a touch of extra style. It’s a comfortable jacket that can be worn from one season to the next.
Galvin Green Darlena Insulating Mid Layer
Sizes: XS-XXL
Colors: 2 (Cool Gray/White, Navy)
+ Exceptionally warm
+ Stylish design
– Recommend opting for navy if you prefer subtle logos
The Darlena is described as a mid-layer, but with a full zipper. In testing, we found that it can easily be worn over a long-sleeve shirt, as a jacket, in autumnal weather because it is surprisingly much warmer than you first think thanks to the padding on the chest and back.
Along with the padding, the collar is also lightly padded for extra coziness and, overall, the fabric is soft and stretchy so there’s no bulk. Aesthetically, its shape and two-tone color styling (also available in all-over navy) gives it a luxurious look and feel, as you would expect in this price category. It also has a flattering silhouette especially around the waist, and there’s a nicely concealed zippered pocket on each side. For this color option, there’s a Galvin Green logo on the right arm and Galvin Green is printed vertically on the lower back, which might not be to everyone’s taste.
Jackets
A decent jacket is another essential item of clothing because it’s no fun playing golf in the wind and rain and definitely no fun if you’re getting cold and wet! Most jackets nowadays are made in super lightweight fabrics so you still have complete freedom of movement, and this also means that they are fairly easy to pack away into your golf bag when not in use.
Adidas Women’s Ultimate 365 Novelty Jacket
Colors: 1
Sizes: Plus Size (1X, 2X, 3X, 4X)
Fabric: 90% Recycled Polyester/10% Elastane Twill
+ Super lightweight
+.Great on course performance
– Only one colour available
Adidas’s Ultimate 365 Novelty jacket lives up to its name. The first thing I noticed is how lightweight it is, which makes it an ideal year-round extra layer to have to hand. It can be folded down to a compact size, meaning it will happily fit in any golf bag and you will barely know it’s there.
Performance wise, this jacket is super comfortable and easy to swing in, and I like the positioning of the zip pockets at the front. Like a lot of adidas’s golf wear it looks just as good off the course as it does on. I would have liked to have seen this plus size jacket available in more colours as I enjoy brighter shades to light up the fairways.
Galvin Green Larissa Jacket
Colors: Alaskan Blue/White, White/Cool Gray, Navy/White, Cool Gray/White/Coral, Blue/White, Camelia Rose/White
Sizes: XS-XXL
Fabric: 100% polyester with PET membrane
+ Luxurious jacket providing a comfortable fit

The Larissa jacket in a recycled polyester fabric features Galvin Green’s Interface technology and this helps to protect women when playing golf, especially in windy conditions. It comes in a clear-cut two-tone design in six distinctive color options with white highlighting the side panels and sleeves.
Testing in very light rain, Larissa kept us dry and it immediately felt cosy, yet we also found it to be highly breathable. It’s exceptionally lightweight and as we’ve come to expect with Galvin Green products, it has a luxurious finish. We like the elastic drawstring at the hem, as this allows for a snug and shapely fit, plus it’s handy to have two zipped side pockets. It’s not the most sporty looking jacket, but it provides first class performance and can be worn for a variety of outdoor activities.
Galvin Green Ally Waterproof Jacket

Colors: 4 (Navy/Grey/White, Blue/Grey/White, Grey/White/Coral, Black/Grey/White)

FootJoy Women’s HydroLite Jacket
Sizes: XS – XXL
Colors: 5 (Black, Navy, Fig, Peach, Red)
+ Brilliant and bold range of 5 color choices

Design-wise, the HydroLite has an a-line waist with cinched with elastic. Giving great shape, we found that it also delivered great maneuverability and we were able to swing freely. It’s worth noting that it is longer in the body than some jackets we have tested, but with it being finished with lovely pleated detail on the sides it would suit other activities, such as riding, very comfortably. Overall, if you want a versatile option that features in five different colors to suit your style, then the HydroLite is a great option!

Adidas Women’s Ultimate 365 Tour WIND.RDY Fleece Hooded Jacket
Sizes: XS – XL
Colors: 2 (White, Bright Red)
+ Really warm winter jacket
+ Trendy styling and versatile
– Not fully waterproof
In testing, we found the hood on the Ultimate 365 Tour WIND.RDY Jacket is generous in size to allow you to wear it over the top of one a beanie or hat, for example, on a really cold day. It’s also got side toggles so that you can pull it in tight to really trap the warmth and keep your head dry.
The warmth of this jacket was the standout for us, with the fleece lining snuggly soft against the skin and cosy on the coldest days. Another plus is that it comes with a generous fit that allows for great freedom of movement, with the length of the jacket slightly longer than average. Importantly, it didn’t feel bulky and heavy, or interfere with the putting stroke, something which was an added bonus in a excellent performing and stylish jacket.

Colors: 2 (Black, Navy)

When on, this coat instantly warms you and will look striking with some bright base layers or other such undergarments.
Providing a weightless feel, it has great stretch capabilities, with side panels running from under each arm to the cuffs. Puma Women’s DRYLBL Waterproof Rain Jacket
Sizes: XS – XXL
Colors: 1 (Black)
+ A must-have addition to your winter wardrobe
+ StormCELL waterproof design stops any water from penetrating through
– Lightweight material means you’ll need layers
First things first, the DRYLBL Waterproof Rain Jacket is extremely lightweight, with Puma utilising their patented stormCELL technology to ensure that every inch of the body stays dry. In testing, the rainwater literally ran off the jacket in beads, which is something we see in all of the best golf waterproofs.
Annoyingly, it is only available in one colour but, given that it pretty much co-ordinates with any outfit, we think it would be the most popular choice anyway. Also, one last thing which will appeal to golfers, is the fact that the jacket doesn’t rustle in the swing, with the pleasingly quiet acoustics allowing you to fully focus on your swing.

Original Penguin Women’s Colorblock Insulated Jacket
Sizes: XS-XL
Colors: Two (Black, Iris)
+ Funky design is eye catching
+ Warm and showerproof
– A tad short in the sleeves and a bit restrictive so sizing up is recommended
This jacket is so funky that we loved it. The retro 70’s style design is eye catching and makes it immediately usable off the course with jeans. The 90% polyester outer is also baby soft to the touch and this always makes a garment immediately warming. Boasting Penguin’s Primaloft insulation, it kept us cosy even on the coldest mornings.
One of the most surprising features of such a snuggly soft jacket is that it is water repellent so will keep you dry as well as at a perfect temperature. The arms and sides are fleece lined which helps to keep you dry and the fleece touches the sides of the waist down from the arms keeping the wind out. The jacket is also lined from the zip to the waist with beautiful Penguin “Sticker Pete” logo reading pattern against a stunning satin style material. Last thing, we would advise on sizing up to really enjoy everything it has on offer.
FootJoy Women’s Hybrid Jacket
Sizes: XS-XXL
Colors: 3 (Navy, Fig, Pink/Black)
+ Brilliant lightweight yet high performing thermal jacket
+ Feels super soft on
– Not waterproof but holds up in drizzle.
This is a stylish and perfectly fitting warm jacket which, for those frosty mornings or when the chilly winds get up, should be one of the go-to apparel items. The thermal qualities this jacket possesses aren’t overpowering and we found that it kept us just right, temperature wise.
We felt that it’s a stealth like warm layer, disguised as a lightweight jersey jacket. The quilting looks fashionable at the front, but this is in fact pockets of thermal tech to keep the warmth in and the wind out. A full zip piece, that is anti-wrinkle, also looks fresh out of the packet even when it’s been whisked out of a cramped carry bag. Finally, it’s got brilliant overlapping uses and we highly recommend it.
How we test women’s golf clothes
Here at Golf Monthly, our testing for women’s golf clothes is built upon a comprehensive process combined with the knowledge and expertise of the entire Golf Monthly test team, headed up by Alison Root, who leads all female golf reviews. As far as the specific procedure goes, prior to testing, the team will usually attend product launches and meet with the manufacturer’s R&D experts to understand the new technology in each item of clothing.
When it comes to testing golf clothes, we head out to the course to each item on over a number of rounds on the UK’s best courses. We look to try to use each item in as many different conditions as possible to give us the best feel of how it performs in sun, rain and snow. We think it is vitally important to do both and continue to test the clothes so they have been comprehensively put to the test in many different conditions. It should also be mentioned that manufacturers cannot pay for a good review and we make our conclusions from the testing and our experiences.
What to consider when buying women’s golf clothes
There is a lot to consider when purchasing new golf clothes but we have some handy tips on several things you need to look out for to make sure you make the best purchase possible for you.
1. Size
The first thing to consider is the size and fit of the clothes that you’re buying. Obviously, you don’t want your clothes to be too tight as that will restrict your movement on the course preventing you from playing your best golf. Whatever piece of clothing it is, pick a size that looks good, isn’t too loose fitting, but also gives you a full range of movement.
2. Colors
As golf styling is becoming more modern, brands are designing clothes that have a wide variety of colors, designs and fabrics that suit every golfer. From bright colorways to traditional patterns, there are plenty of colors available to you, so pick the one you like the most.
3. Mobility
This is a vital consideration for any golfer as if you’re constricted in your mobility then you’re going to struggle to perform a full swing. Look for clothes that aren’t too tight-fitting, but are also made of stretchy fabrics that can expand with your movements. One good thing to keep an eye out for is t-shirts and mid-layers that have panels on the sides that help you stretch up and down with the arc of your swing.
4. Breathability
Particularly if you’re playing in warmer climates, having shirts, mid-layers and jackets that are breathable and keep you feeling fresh and aerated on the course are important to helping you stay cool and play your best golf. There’s nothing worse than being hot and uncomfortable during your round, so for that reason, look to buy clothes that can keep you cool on the course.
5. Waterproofing
You never know when you’ll get rain, snow or sun on the golf course, so it’s always best to plan ahead to ensure you’re ready to play in any condition possible. For that reason, buy clothing that is durable and resistant to the elements. Especially if you’re purchasing a jacket or a mid-layer, look to buy clothing that is water resistant and can provide you with ample protection from the elements.

Colors: 2
Sizes: XS-XXL
Fabric: Double Knit Modal
+ Incredible quality and highly practical
+ Teflon Eco-Elite coating, which is water and stain resistant
– Internal shorts offer little give
This Jackie O inspired A-Line skort is so classy. Paired with bright popping colours on top or on foot you could have a real ode to the 60’s get up going. Pair it with a sleeveless white top or long-sleeve polo shirt and you suddenly ooze class.
Well structured, deep pockets, two at the front and one at the back and with beautiful piping. The detail is really impressive. I’d say the internal shorts are a bit like silky pyjama bottoms, not a lot of give to them and fairly sheer. I’d line my putts up carefully in this one. Though at 16” it’s long enough to be modest. A fun and classic skort that will stand the test of time and has already got me excited about the summer.
