One of the best SF comedies ever. I'd put it up there with Avenue 5, Dark Star and Other Space as a masterpiece of dark comedy aboard a space ship.

Mixing Douglas Adams with 2001 resulted in a slightly boring DNA-soup. The butter my butt line was about the only thing that made me chuckle.

I have seen this movie on another web site. You Tube seems to filter the lighting in their movie release.

Do l detect an inspiration here, perhaps, of Dan O Baannion/ John Carpenters superb Dark Star, a seminal film that established the trope of space crews as working stiffs a lot like truckers? The character dynamic is similar, the humor dry and witty, and it stands well in that space opera genre.
