I’m convinced unless you run across a truly sadist that quiet obedience and respect without over doing either is the best way to conduct yourself when confronted by authority. Even if you “didn’t do anything wrong” saying so makes you sound like all the drunks.

Terrible police work. Awful. They had a suspect right there and let him drive away. Chasing him puts many more people in danger.
