As a Christian myself i feel bad that a lot of other Christians preach hate in so many ways, when its supposed to be about spreading kindness and love to everyone. Even those who are different. Then they go and say all this hate and manipulation and its driving people away.

I really hate how everyone claims that the church is homophobic. We hate the sin not the person and that doesn’t mean we are scared homophobia means it’s a fear that’s definitely not the case they are probably the least intimidating group of people. But simply saying that being gay is a sin makes us hate the person is a crazy idea. We are simple trying to protect you from hell and that is the most loving thing anyone can do for another person. Sure there maybe some people in church that hates gays and other sinners but those people are just like the pharisees. I hate sin but I do my best to not hate the person I am human and I fall short but I do my best not to hate people for their ignorance
I think my gap years were so transformative for me. I believe that if more pre-meds took that time prior to matriculation, it will help determine if medicine is really for them (which will ultimately help their personal statement + essays if they do decide this journey is for them)! I find the concept of a pope ironic, and a distraction to what Christianity is meant to be about at its core. I've heard too many stories about folks that were raised Catholic or went to a Catholic school and left because they were taught a skewed message. If they were instead taught Christianity in its simplest form, straight from the Bible, they may have developed a relationship with God and become believers

Hi! For me, it's not a moral issue that tipped me over to atheism, it was the facts. The absurd beliefs that I had to accept for Christianity to be true. The ignoring of the lack of evidence, when evidence clearly should be present, if god interacts with reality in anyway. And the dissonance of having to accept that god exists, but I can't know if he actually existed until I die, after being told by someone who's alive. Sorry guys, I see no gods before me, so I love my life as if there are none. Strangely though, I don't go around raping and murdering.
