The Native American phenotype is very convoluted now because of the “$5 Indian” caucasians and Spaniards who infiltrated their tribes to get some homestead land. I'm Hispanic/Latino of Mexican American descent and I'm both of European Spanish and Native. I look more White for sure but people in the past have asked me if I'm part Asain, and I said no because I didn't know the ancestry link between the two. There are clear differences in cultures for sure but now I know that I have part East Asain in me surprises me but also I know it shouldn't because I knew there were some resemblances. Natives also would have some European mix but they were mostly compromised of East Asain DNA. At the end of the day we are all human beings and today we learn that we have more genetic links than previously thought.
Also I know that in Mexican culture there are similarities to Asain Culture and being around Asain Americans they can be surprised on how much we pickup from their culture. Over the course of time we have many differences of which are interesting but genetically as human beings all of us are 90% or more the same and it's a small fraction that gives us our different looks.

I'm Indigenous American Indian. Powhatan. The same Nation as Pocahontas's and just like Asians do not all look the same, we don't either and the odd part about this is, not even most of the Nations you mentioned looked the way they do now prior to colonization. Not even Inuits who are the most likely to have crossed the Bering Strait, if ANY. It's still just all theories. That's why I do not believe it, because the looks of most of the Nations you mentioned were very dark people and did not look the way they look prior to colonization. They look like that due to colonization and the white people mixing with our Nations and also Chinese left from the railroads mixing with our over 600 Nations. We didn't even look like that just 150yrs ago. The looks you're seeing now is a direct result of Europeans mixing with Indigenous American Indian people although some won't admit it, because it doesn't matter if your daddy is a Smurf, if your mother is Indian, YOU'RE INDIAN. But let's make this very clear, unbeknownst to popular belief, the large majority of Indigenous American Indians from the North Pole to Tierra Del Fuego were dark people with varying hair textures and features. If you look at the National Archives you will find what I'm saying to be very true. Most of the Nations you're talking about don't even look like their ancestors. It was very rare to be light skinned prior to colonization, but now most of us are and that says a lot without speaking. Furthermore, the description of Pocahontas's, her father and the whole Powhatan Nation was totally false. They were as dark as Africans. The whole Nation was and so is my Grandfather and his Great Grandfather. They have straight hair, but they're still dark people and yes, some do have a South Asian look about them, but it doesn't mean they're ancestors of Asians. We are our own people. Papua New Guinean people are Asians, but look like they're straight from Africa. Don't they? So we cannot just go off of how a person looks. We have our own unique varying phenotypes here. Turtle Island is the old world and the Americas are the oldest land masses and continents on the planet, so what makes people think we didn't have our own first people and cradles of civilization? Caral-Supe and Poverty Point are both older than any pyramid in Africa and China, so how is it possible we came from there? Doesn't make sense?
