  1. This is such elaborate bull shit. How is it testing a style vs a style when both have been trained in the other style, full well knowing what to expect? Go sell ice cream to Eskimos.

  3. It's interesting to see your partner countering the techniques because he knows them as well.

I wonder if there's more of this where you refined some other techniques and tried them on opponents who don't know them, maybe even tried Atemi waza.

  4. Aikido is a way to regain your body, already a good thing, stay in shape very late. The practice is more like a dance in which one seeks harmony between two bodies. Now judo and other martial arts are also ineffective in the face of witty thugs! , conclusion a lot of humility Sell martial arts to defend yourself in the street a bullshit, a technique is one thing control your fear before danger is another thing much more complex!

  5. It is not bad video, but it seems like both of them never trained to excecute the techniques against fighing opponent before. Judo guy had no idea what to do if an attack fails or if his opponent have good food work. Aikido guy was trying to perform techniques from the book, but sticking to them even when his opponent is resisting too much. I saw people who are using effective aikido and if they try one lock and see resistence, they are always ready to replace it with two or three different techniques on the fly.

Seems like you train, but you need to focus on trasitions (both).

  6. Title is deceiving! It not what is said to be, it is "aikido + judo" versus "aikido"… No sense… Want to do "aikido" x "judo", get a black belt in Judo who has no experience in Aikido, versus an aikido black belt with no experience in Judo.

  7. Since aikido is more about countering, you might want to stop focusing on getting the first grip or initial control. Let your opponents take the first grip and figure out ways to counter it with an aikido technique. The more you get offensive the more they will avoid your intention so might as well give them what they want first and counter it.

  8. My impession on Judo is that it very much goal driven and competitive. You WILL bring your opponent down, you will escape his grapples, you are trained to overcome. But with Aikido, it feels more supplementary. It has a lot of wisdom and flow. It's more self-centered and philosophical and works in ideal situations. I am familiar with both martial arts on a very basic level, though. What do you think?

  9. Judo guy is really bad & aikido guy is bad to. Aikido with out martial fundamental base like wrestling, boxing, myai-tay is not working. Judo base is more multipractice in same time in physiclal and tactical. Its brawn belt move like yellow belt.

  10. Makes a Man look real real hard at Catch as Can Wrestling Pre 1900 till WW2.And Boxing as a Solid Fighting Skills.Had a Friend who in College was a Greco Roman Wrestler and went to Poland and Wrestled,he was that good this was? Late 80's.His Observation was This: Tell me why only in U.S. is Wrestling taught as Sport.Every other Country its a Martial Art,a Deadly Martial Art.WHY?

  11. Dude really? I mean ok it's just Randori sparring.

But I never saw a Judoka this bad.

Even me as a very old Brown Belt Judoka I threw that bloke only with firm De Ashi Barai's and well prepared O Soto Gari's to the Floor.

    Waste of time, sry.

  12. How can you call it Aikido if not a single atemi was thrown? "he resisted the technique" well duh, that's what the atemi is for.
Is one of the principles of it. Do they not teach this anymore?
