  1. A few years of some of these kinds of stretches has lead to me having several prolapsed discs in the lower spine. It's not really worth it in the long run. Reminds me of how guys that want to gain muscle have to increase their protein/carbs and calorific intake and later notice a rise in their HBA1C level and find themselves borderline diabetic. People tend not to consider their longevity when training.

  2. Okay, I'm doing the palms to the floor, ankles together toe-touches, and the knee straightened leg stretches, but I am unable to get into a full split. Still working on that one…

  3. About two years ago, I had just become unemployed due to severe shoulder and hand damage. So, I was like, I'll at least appreciate that I have working, nimble legs that have never showm the slightest sign of trouble. I stretched and practiced kicks for about 2h. Side kicks, back kicks, head height, ankle height, everything I could think of. My balance was terrific and I felt great about it. Next morning, I took the first step out of bed and fell on my face. Both hips, although perfectly okay during the practice, had gone to shit. Lesson: don't try to improve, just dwell in the misery.
