Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching! Today, we work what could have been a deadly situation. We were told that a semi trailer lost a set of duals (two tires & wheels together with the hub), crossed the median into oncoming traffic, and struck a Ford F150 pickup truck. The pickup then lost control, went through the median, and got tangled in the barrier cables heading the opposite direction!!! Can you imagine seeing a set of truck tire coming straight at you??? How scary would that be?? Thankfully, there were no serious injuries. We are asked to run Code 3, lights and siren, by the police department. We don’t chose when we run Code, we have to be instructed to do so. I take our Peterbilt 337 with a Miller Industries Century LCG12 and Matt brings our Dodge Ram traffic control unit #16 with our new Traffic Commander sign board. When you see the pickup I believe you will have a similar reaction to what I had. How did anyone walk away from this? It’s hard to tell what did more damage, the semi’s duals or the cable barrier. We definitely have our work cut out for us trying to extricate the pickup from the cables. Here we go…

Aside from all the suspension being ripped out, the pickup doesn't actually look that bad for the ride it took.
This is a textbook example of why and how those arresting wire barriers save lives.
Those occupants had a wild, wild ride. I think we saw them standing by the truck when Ron pulled onscene and they looked ok, thank goodness.
When you run "code", do you speed up any (75 or 85) or just travel at highway speed?
I am shocked there was no injuries in that accident considering how mango the truck was thank goodness for the cables or this could have been a very bad outcome

RP. You and your staff have a very dangerous job. Your 🚨🚨 means nothing to others. Most of the time their speed doesn't even change. Any of those 🚛🚚🛻🚗 have a blowout it doesn't matter to them. Never did understand why cable barrier is closer to shoulder on one side than the other. Wouldn’t it make more sense to have it in middle of median instead of where it’s at? Just asking.
Remotes are a bad idea on light/medium duty trucks.
Man they steel cables sure do make a mess of things, but, they are effective that ford didnt go into on coming traffic

I was wondering when a video from Ron Pratt would appear. I'm not worried though, Ron Pratt and his employees have plenty of work to do, post whenever you have the time. My prayers and well wishes go out to everyone at Midwest Truck and Towing, and their families and friends, and anyone I missed. Keep on doing the recovery and towing work! I'll just wait patiently, and I sincerely hope everyone else does too.
