  1. You can't make money selling fitness coaching, food, energy/protein drinks, and supplements when people are fasting.

    The greatest biohack of my life was and is daily IM fasting (5+ years now) and long term fasting 3+ days.

    99% of fitness/health "influencers" are grifters.

  2. Fasted for 3 days out of the week for 2 years and didn't lose muscle – only gained muscle and while on a ketogenic diet, you will only put on more muscle over time as long as you are lifting weights

  3. According to Dr. Fung, my go to on fasting, he put up a study RE ADF showing body fat went down after 14 days, lean muscle (fat-free mass) did not go down, but went up slightly. He has many videos on fasting and muscle loss. I totally disagree with these YT influencers. I’ve had, & continue to have, wonderful experiences w fasting. One 48hr fast, coming off it I always eat light, no veggies or fruits (they digest too fast to break a fast). I eat lightly meat, milk or cheese first meal. Last time I decided since I was eating meat, why not try carnivore for a few days. I was on it for 3 wks, felt great, got down to 19% body fat. I love fasting & believe it does great things for the body, such as consuming cancer cells, & other problematic or damaged cells. YMMV, best wishes to you.

  7. Attia is talking about 7-10 day fasts which I guarantee most in the comments are not prepared to do, nor want to. I feel like 2-3 days of fasting will have a negligible impact on muscle loss as long as you’re transitioning back into a high protein meal plan once the fast is complete

  10. Thank you very much for this very interesting material! I would argue that Intermittent Fasting and Fasting are 2 very different things metabolically, because of Growth Hormone production, among others. The input of almost all the doctors and athletes mentionned in the video is about intermittent fasting and not fasting, so the title should actually mention "Against Intermittent fasting" and not only "Against Fasting" in my opinion. In any case, really worth the watch.

  11. Fasting is a miracle with the right approach cycled properly. Dr Mindy Pelz does a great podcast where she goes over it in great detail particularly for women. It makes complete sense once you do it well but not necessarily for everyone of course.

  14. The way you presented this video was very misleading. NONE of the experts here are "against" fasting, they are simply adding qualifiers to how and how long and why one does fasting.

Well it might not be a strictly scientific way of judging the matter and it isn't isolating the variables but Peter Attia and Tim Ferris have both been hardcore fasters/keto adherents at points in time and they both have awesome skin for their age. I am disappointed with Rhonda Patrick to extrapolate missing breakfast being a problem into fasting as a general principle. The processes such as autophagy and the production of stem cells that are induced by periodic fasts seem to me to be worth a few days off protein, not that I know but surely muscle mass doesn't atrophy that quickly to allow for some periodic fasting. I can't understand why these highly analytical intelligent people who generally look at nuance and detail seem to be conflating regular daily intermittent fasting with 'fasting' as a general principle in whatever form – surely they are all talking about daily 'intermittent fasting' but just using the word 'fasting.' Tommy Wood seems to be the only one who differentiates between 'intermittent fasting' and less regular more prolongued fasts. Perter Attia and Rhonda Patrick really disappoint me on this matter (maybe giving up fasting has affected their brain function – and what use is a body wthout a brain (a pain in the arse I would think – imagine an immensly strong dementia patient…..)
