I really appreciate the artistic liberty they took to make the Egyptians, or the Ptolemaic court, look ‘strange’ and foreign to emphasise the difference between the East and Rome – but the sand floor was a really funny choice😂
But great show, great cast.
Raise gardening cost for the super wealthy
Tax farmers. Wow, I bet that monarchy was popular with the peasantry.
SIT DOWN
Technically, Pompey was the one who lend and supported Ptolemy XII. That's why he thought he could get help in Egypt.
"Roman law…"
I mean…. yeah, dude. You borrowed from Roman lenders, they're going to consider those debts due according to their own laws. They're not going to give you special treatment.
Caesar's reply is fucking great, though 😆
Another great detail in that scene.
When Caesars accountant told how much Egypt owed to the Roman Republic he said, Fifteen-thousand-thousand".
Back in that time, the term for several millions didn't exist yet, nice historical accurate element I see there.
Imagine just being a pathetic ignored human footstool for a kid
…well I was really enjoying this one….until Cleopatra came into it. Although nobody can say how she really looked or sounded, I felt she was completely unconvincing as Cleopatra. Also, the episode turned into Carry On Cleo. Ffs !.. such a fine episode otherwise, what posessed them to cheapen it like that ?.

This scene is similar to Bane in Batman.
Do you feel in-charge??
I can definitely hear Julius Caesar talking arrogantly to the pirates who took him captive
"you wretched woman" Caesar respecting the eunuch's pronouns before it was state-mandated lmao
Somewhere in the HBO Heavens Tywin Lannister and Julius Caesar are having a drink complaining about dealing with little shits who think they are Kings and therefore in charge.
Ugly little ptolemy
"You wretched woman." is the best sentence in the show. XD
I would have knocked little punk into next week. That was the most epically deployed "sit dow" ever. 😂
Lmfao ceasar put the little brat in timeout
I guess ceasor had respect for pompie and was horrified he was murdered
Dunno why, but this scene makes me instantly think about "I am THE KING" from game of thrones
“You wretched woman” is about how society is feeling toward the eunuchs trying to redefine biology these days.
Just finished rewatching the series a week ago and here I am watching clips again.
And that was the beginning of the end for Ceaser.
Great scene!
Ironic that this tv series is now a better documentary than Netflix’s Cleopatra
Is there some other form of law⚖️. Roma Invicta!!!
Huge shakedown.
ugly pathetic white gal
Is there some other form of law, you
bitchwretched woman?Rip king
Caesar wants the kid's lunch money.
Only someone who has epelepsy can be respected and understand existence like a king 🗿 to kill someone like this is a great sin
Ptolemy: "There's your payment!" Throws the scroll down
Caesar: Puts his hand over his shoulder "Do you feel in charge?"
Greeks not able to pay their debts
Nothing new
Sit down
The king is tired
I am king
Anyone who says he's a king is no true king
A modern version of this is the US and the UK, which is a vassal state to our mighty republic.
I like how they make Egypt look weak and dumb.
“He is vassal to Rome”
“Vassal? I am no vassal!! I am king!”
“SIT DOWN”
Just fucking screamed at a bratty kid. I love it
Oh what a horn dog " oh I shall find her" man knows how to find his women haha
Joffrey and Varys gets roasted by Caesar and Posca
1988 CLEOPATRA VII DERNIÈRE REINE EGYPTE ROME JULES CÉSAR JULES REMI GOFFLO CÉSAR ROMAINS
Roman Consuls had absolute power during this time, they could walk into other empires and tell the rulers to get fucked and pay up the protectorate fees.
