  1. No matter what Guinness brings out in adds today! they'll never compare to the genius and strange world of Rutger Hauer… he is and always will be the master for the strange and weird for Guinness, rest in peace Rutger we miss you man.

  2. I just absolutely loved Rutger Hauer. As a teenager I watched his films repeatedly. He had such an extraordinary magnetism and was the very epitome of charisma. The camera just loved him, and when on screen nobody else in the scene was even noticeable such was the gravity of the man.

  3. I'm sat here having a cool dark drink, reminiscing. Thank you for taking the time and effort to collect and post these. I was a child when they were first shown, and honestly the Aussie larger, the one Australians couldn't give a XXXX for anything else are still the best, however these are as the tagline so aptly put it are pure genius.

  4. These adverts really hit a nerve when I was a kid. So cool and abstract. Guiness seemed liked the coolest drink ever. Oh to be older and be allowed to drink alcohol. I moidered my Mam until I was allowed to try some. Anyway at 10 or 11 at my Aunties Annes house I was given a glass and my young palette didn't appreciate it too much. It was horrible. These adverts are iconic. The idea of Rutger Hauer dressed all in black with his fair hair representing a glass of guiness was genius. Perhaps that was the pure genius referred to in the adverts.

  5. The telepathy one had two versions. They played the first, silent, one the most and where you hear the missing teddy bear message, very rarely. My friends thought I was crazy as I told them what he was thinking. Brilliant.
