3. So this is the first time I have heard of a 6G wifi router, only learned of it last night when I stayed at my sisters to help around and mow her huge yard. I noticed a small 6 next to the wifi icon on my phone and got concerned so I asked her and she didn't know what it was never seeing it on her device or her daughters. Wasn't until I did a Brave search that I found out that her router supplied by her ISP was 6G. Well long story short I was not impressed by the extra boost as it ate my phone battery down like pac man on steroids. This is a brand new Samsung with the biggest battery they make. Never having battery issues since purchase I was not to thrilled about the 6G. Basically I will stick with the 2.4 – 5G routers and will not upgrade because everyone around my household either uses a phone or tablet. Though I do stream off my Xbox and PS5 my router has no issues under load handling over 6 people streaming. I don't online game anymore but if I did my router has no issues in multiplayer. I believe the 6G upgrade is absolutly a wasted investment and not needed as 5G is pleanty fast enough to handle current tech without causing more draw off the router in terms of download and upload speeds. It always amazes me how people need to upgrade to knew tech like Apple phones in a years time. Hell even the older Apple products work just as good as a new model and other then battery replacements can still be usable 5 yrs later. Now by all means If you feel the need to upgrade to 6G that is your choice, however many of you will not really notice and real speed improvements maybe perhaps you might if you live really close to your ISP but you will definatly notice a huge drain on battery devices which again if you are okay with that then so be it. I have been around tech since the beginning including building PCs, setting up networks or routers for gamers on many products but got out of that because really at this point it is not worth it for the small amounts of improvements we see in the current tech industry. Most gamers who post their current rigs and graphic cards won't directly tell new gamers that they OC their products and write scripts to get as performance which is why new gamers get so upset when they buy a new rig with the same exact basic specs and hardware and get angry or flustered when their system does not perfom like they seen on Youtube channels. It's basically a catch 22 and a long learning process as new rig owners head to tech sites to ask questions and discuss how they can make their rigs perform like they see on Youtube. Occasionally you get an honest Youtuber who bench marks their rig and explains how to tweak their system to get the most out of them. See I am going on blathering but many of you will get what I am saying while others, well those types that would rather argue or just troll because they are not smart enough to do anything else. But ending this I say do as you please as it is your money but don't have high expections as you may not get the perfomance others will see by upgrading.
