  1. I have my own lockdown story it's not as horrific as alot of them. But when I was in middle school, it was probably 2nd period and we heard a gunshot not long after we got put into lockdown, the threat was outside the school in a house pretty much a football field length away from the school and it turned out this kid shot his father, Took the shot gun and put some extra shells in his pocket and ran tried to get into our school, the door he tried was the one directly outside our room to this day idk why he didn't just shoot the glass to get in. The police believe he was wanting to hide not actually hurt anyone else. He tried a couple doors on our side and proceeded to run behind the school into the woods and that is where he took his life. The worst part for me was peeking out the window and seeing the firetruck my dad would usually always drive parked outside the house and I was terrified the second shot was him being hurt or worse, especially as a child you don't think rationality. The teacher at the point of release didn't know what the second shot was so understandably let me go to the office to call the fire department or my parents. The horrible receptionist who was known to be evil to the kids, I had a few run inside myself. Proceeded to tell me "you can wait until they come get you or until you get home it's not important for you to make the call" I went back to my teacher freaking out and she was disgusted at what the lady said and so she let me use her phone to call my mom and it turns out my dad was working at his regular job. You don't do that shit to a child especially something traumatic. I hope that receptionist never gets to experience the cold side of a pillow

    Not to make fun of the situation, and I get that he was trying to distract them but like;
    LOCKDOWN, LOCKDOWN, LOCKDOWN! THIS IS NOT A DRILL. THERE IS AN ACTIVE SHOOTER ON SCHOOL GROUNDS!
    "Damn it, I forgot my coffee!"

  3. My school's were gated with tough fence and razor wire, it also had a security at the gate. I never recognized that when i was a student there, but now after hearing all this horror, i really appreciate all that effort they made to keep us safe.

  4. It's astonishing to me that the solution for survival is to move away from the door, get on the floor, and play with the carpet. While we have armed security at banks and every politician is guarded, we still refuse to secure our schools.

  5. Very sad 2 people died while under a lock down, I'm so sorry for their losses. R.I.P. To the 2 Victims! 😢💔My condolences and prayers to the parents, school, and all the people at the school. 🙏🏻

  6. The last month or so of my freshman year in high school (‘04) I was barely there due to the fact that there were threats constantly being spray painted on the wall of one of the girls bathrooms. Threats of shootings and violence. Some days the school actually let out early or cancelled for a few days due to this, others I just called my mom and asked her to come get me. Turns out it was the senior prank. 😖

  7. In the late 90s, I grew up in a small town in the SW, my brother went to the middle school while I was in high school. There was an announcement that there was a lockdown at the high school and we had no idea what was going on. When were finally released, I found out that a boy had taken a gun to school because he was suicidal and shot a girl in the back of the head. RIP Aracely Tena. My brother told me everyone started running outside because the incident took place in the lobby of the school.

  10. Thanks for your posting consistency! It's good to have comforting stuff to listen to when dealing with heavy stuff, especially when dealing with it in an isolated environment.
