If you think.you are being followed fo. do not go home. Drive to the nearest police station or call 911 give your location and just drive around until they get to you.
It would've been funny if the people bei g followed had a car like James Bond had in Goldfinger. That could spray oil slick on the road or make a smoke screen and made the other car crash.

The story of the car following you from the rest area it’s bizarre that the driver behind you had the patience to follow you for that long. There was definitely something in plan if he was following you for more than 45 minutes.
