The mind-body connection is so important while doing weight exercises. You can do the same movements and gain more muscle simply by focusing on the muscle and working it rather than just doing the movement and using momentum.
Thanks for the great video, Dr A! There were several points that resonated with me, very specifically #7 and #8 while focusing on strength training the last two months of working the FMP lifestyle. I’ve gained about 7 lbs over the 2 months while still sticking to my nutrition and sleep and know that cutting is definitely a step I’m ready to pursue soon. To hear you say that fat gain is a healthy part of building muscle is really encouraging. I can definitely also relate to treating aches and pains with respect. My shoulders have given me lots of grief during this journey to health. Push-ups and racking a barbell on my shoulders has really pushed my ROM and comfort level. I’ve found that working dumbbells for similar muscle working has been my happy place. I’m very excited to hear you say that this is ok, too, to pursue what you need uniquely your make it workable and sustainable! It’s like you read my mind and answer my questions and ponderings so often! 🤪😂 Thank you! Very grateful for the FMP program and lifestyle! It’s really changed my life for the better in so many ways!

I used to assume that I’d get better ROM if I straightened my my arms / legs…. Then I learned about hyperextension through trial & error.
