Thanks Pastor Skip – I'm sure you'll discuss it in your chapter-by-chapter series in future, but chapter 21 contains the puzzling account of God striking Israel with a 3-day pestilence that killed 70,000 men as judgement for David taking a census of the people. Not clear why, but it angered God enough that He killed more men in 3 days than what we lost in the entire Vietnam War! Some say it was because only God was to ask for a census, others that David showed lack of faith in God by counting his army….
