Barry, I disagree with you on the teachers attire. Can the teachers at least show respect? If the kids gotta do it, the teachers should dress appropriately too. They should be embarrassed that Johnny and Susie are dressed like they should and the teachers are halfway naked wearing revealing clothes, esp with cleavage hanging out. School should be conducted in a different atmosphere rather than a playground. Teachers should have a dress code too. Even our shop teachers wore a shirt and tie. Schools for children are special, promoting respect and dignity preparing for the real world. My niece went to all Christian schools from Lutheran to Baptist to St. Mary's. My sister was so relieved not to have to pay for expensive clothes . No one worried about what to wear. It was just simple. Also the students stood out in a crowd. (In an emergency this would be helpful in identifying who is who. Sorry for the length I'm very passionate about this subject.)
Please include a class in etiquette, maybe culminating in coition. Encourage students to play some kind of musical instrument. At lease teach classical music history.
Grad 1966 Little Rock Central High School. We couldn't wear jeans, shorts, — culottes ok only dresses and skirts. Saddle-oxfords, The guys couldn't wear their hair below their collar — they were sent to the barbershop. I h[nk school uniforms are the way tp go — express your fashion preference away from school. NO purple hair to distraact.
The Department of Education is teaching our kids to be good Communists and lunatic progressive liberals. We need plain ole teachers, not indoctrination propagandists "educating" them to be liberal progressives,we need smart educated kids who will be successful, who will kearn to be law and order citizens who live with others happily instead of hating everything and everyone; that's so destructive and damaging to the human spirit. Just like we did in the days of old.

This doesn't have to do with education, but I saw a post about the horrific things Elon has done. So, I asked if they could tell me what horrific things he had done because I hadn't heard any. In fact, I only heard good things. Then . . . crickets. They couldn't answer my question.

Look up the 529 savings account. Theyre not going to get us the funding from what i understand, that just means up to $10,000 tax free but it would come from our money. I homeschool and was hoping this to be true….i dont think thats true.

I am 63. When I was in Mrs. Dye's 5th grade, we were made to listen to an NPR radio show entitled, "I'm the Black American." This was in Atlanta, GA. It's been going on for a long time in certain areas.

The closing of the Department of Education is not an attack on Education. It is an attack on the gravy train salary of $500,000 per year that Randi Weingarten receives. The Teacher's Union should be abolished too. Teachers should refuse to send their well earned money to the Teacher's Unions.

The one thing l have to argue with you about college and or university . Some of us are not meant to go there but ah apprenticeship in a trade does make you good money too. Money if you were wise to invest with too. At the moment skilled trades are in huge demand and those spots need to be filled

As a school counselor of 25+ plus years, placing the failure of student achievement solely on the teachers will not increase student performance. There are multiple factors that impact student performance. One huge factor is student attendance. Many student’s are failing because they miss more days out of school than they are present. How can you blame teachers and make them responsible for students who don’t come to school? Additionally, many of those students parents come from single household and receiving public assistance. Here is one solution, tie public assistance to actual school attendance and achievement, not solely being registered at a school and collecting. That will incentivize hard work, achievement and learning.
