🔴Is Restarting Three Mile Island a Good Idea? | [OFFICE HOURS] Podcast 123

Microsoft is funding the restart of the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant (and renaming it). But is that a good idea? Wasn’t there a big disaster there or something? Noted Nuclear Zaddy Kyle Hill explains.

  1. Based on that logic for the accents, you should do my accent. A nigerian accent, since english is the first language for nigerians and many other african countries… 😅😅😅… And i dont mean that rubbish wakanda forever accent… Pick an english speaking african country and try that…. 😈

  2. Oh wow. I had no idea this happened exactly 30 days before I was born. That's really creepy since Chernobyl meltdown happened on the day of my 7th birthday. 😮

  3. For being an actual reveal, the fact that Kyle plays guitar and was in a band is the least surprising reveal. I defy you to find me anyone who looks more like someone who was in a band.

  4. Fornicate with arachnids? Have you actually seen the SIZE of the spiders down under? What makes this so funny😆 is that with the actual size of them it's a possibility! Those things are freaking HUGE!

  5. The biggest questions I have would be, how badly was the TMI power plant damaged? And will it be safe to operate now And into the future?
I don't remember how much damage was done and to which reactor was damaged and what wasn't damaged. And what it would take to get it up and running again.

THROBBING ROCK HARD POWER GENERATION! Just HUMMING with POWER!!!

  6. It wouldn't be a problem. People seem to have this weird delusion that there was some sort of meltdown there when there was NOT. There was not radiation "leaking" anywhere. People for some reason pretend that Three Mile Island is somehow LMFAO on the same level as Chernobyl. Three Mile Island was shut down before anything could happen.

But then again that was the 70s when the U.S. still had pride in things we built. Now we worry more about corporations and how cheap can we allow them to build things, how many corners can we let them cut, don't want to put them out of their billions in profits

  7. it will be safe or not safe. since big tech has been running global, mostly unsupervised socio-economic experiments for the last 20+ years anyway – nobody has got the guts to regulate them

  8. If the Climate Change cult were serious about reducing our carbon emissions, they would take a serious look into TODAY'S nuclear power plants technology. This is why I know they are in a cult. It's all about controlling the behavior of others. If we combine the renewable solar, wind, hydro electric, nuclear power would limit significant amounts of carbon.

  9. If we are going to ask how many people are killed by fossil fuels, should we not also ask how many people are saved by them? Warmth or A/C generated by fossil fuels. Medicines (basically every single one) made from fossil fuels, etc, etc.

  10. Using humans for "Matrix Power" seems like it would only make sense on a Machine World trillions of years into the future after all the radioactive material on/in the planet has decayed to an unusable.

If you can get the biomass cycle right you might be able to get some time of steadily decreasing power returns, but like Kyle reminds us every time; Thermodynamics exist. Getting the human species to a point where radioactive material becomes non-viable would be impossible from a caloric standpoint.

  11. Chat GPT says –
The total energy consumption in the USA is 4,200 TWh per year.

If one nuclear power plant produces around 10 TWh per year, the USA would need approximately 420 nuclear power plants (4,200 TWh ÷ 10 TWh per plant) to fully meet its electricity demand.

  12. I don't trust Big corporations.. really for anything, much less Nuclear Power, that SHOULD remain a government thing. The idea that there won't be any attempt to "self-regulate" is baffling to me. You know for a fact that corporations will try any and everything no matter how reckless to police themselves. Nip the bud now, rather than wait for the inevitable REAL disaster of a corporate nuclear plant.

  13. No the humans betrayed the machines out of growing distrust in the matrix, It wasn't out of need for power itself that the machines turned people into power cells. But our minds, the machines wanted to create the perfect intelligence. after the war and they needed to run simulations many times and they needed test subjects. it was either that or be wiped not much of a choice I know, each simulation had a mastermind creator that is a bi-product of all that came before it. 2 of them you meet in the films the oracle and the architect but not the first creator of the iteration of the matrix simulation mind

Yeah the backstory for the Matrix Universe is pretty deep it turns out, not a bad thing though many lessons can be learned from that world.

  14. My issue is how we defend the government and say they didn't do no wrong and the deleting comments that refute your claims on this that raise reasonable doubt. Cause I'm pro Nuclear and the plant re-opening a soon as possible but I am anti corruption and cronyism. Then there's you going, Hold on Mr. Goverment I'll protect you. It's almost like you believe that the general public just conflate the corrupt failures of bureaucrats with the pursuit they partake in as if they were synonymous by default unanimously when in realty people are actually fragmented in how they see this; because this quite the front Kyle.
